Larping

It all started when Lilly, granddaughter of his neighbors and his crush, told him how much fun she had last year at summer camp because they had a LARP event going on.

A quick search online and he discovered that it meant live action role playing, basically playing dungeons and dragons in real life while wearing costumes. Throwing tennis balls at people while screaming fireball was a bit too nerdy even for him, but he picture of her "elven archer character" which was basically her wearing a skimpy green bikini, sandals, pointy ears and a nerf bow was convincing enough for him to look for a group doing that in their town.

A bit more searching and he lucked on a local group organizing events, which even had people from his high school in it, K-T didn't know if it was a good or bad thing yet.

Events were organized using various settings from high fantasy, to sci-fi or even supernatural with vampires and werewolves. After choosing one and registering for it he was now next to a few cars and minivans in a prairie at the edge of the woods. Being new to this, his character had been picked by the roll of a dice as was apparently the tradition in this group for first timers.

He was waiting for his turn to get in the van that served as a changing room and make up station for the boys while Lilly was being prepared in another one and he was beginning to have doubts about the whole thing as most girls that were already dressed had costumes that were nowhere as skimpy as the picture Lilly showed him.
