Chapter 4

What’s their topic?

Land of Tomorrow, Today

“Oh, um, it looks like we’re supposed to be observing the World of Tomorrow exhibits.” Nora said, folding their paper up and placing it into her purse.

“Well at least we got one that sounds interesting.” Molly said. “I think I overheard one group got something called Concrete and You.”

It wasn’t much, barely even a joke really, but Molly’s comment helped set them both at ease, enough to let them talk to each other like normal friends for at least a little while. Side by side they walked towards the rest of the class, catching up where they had fallen behind. They got in the back of the line to receive their day passes, a small band that went around their wrist, which would allow them to explore the museum freely. They received their passes, and proceeded towards the automatic doors of the entrance.

The girls entered the museum behind all their classmates, and stopped to stare in awe at the enormous room that made up the entrance. They, like the rest of the school, were used to fairly lackluster trips, all in thanks to the cheapness of the school board. So the fact that this museum seemed to actually be fairly modern came as a shock to them all.

“It’s huge.” Nora said, looking around. Their were planes hanging from the ceiling, a model spaceship off in one corner, and what looked like a giant Van de Graaff generator, which multiple students were already touching, their hair frizzed out in every direction.

Multiple corridors led away from the room, all labeled in big bold letter as to what exhibit they went to, including one for Word of Tomorrow.
