Lakeside camping trip

"I think camping would be fun."

Susan nodded. "I'll pick you up around five. Don't forget your swimsuit."

I nodded and went off to class. After school, I went home to pack. A couple changes of clothes, my trunks, and a sleeping bag. Nodding to myself, I watched TV while I waited.

Just after five, the doorbell rang. Grabbing my stuff, I answered it. Susan stood there smiling.

"Ready to go?"

"Absolutely. Who's all going?"

Leading me to the car, she replied. "Well, my dad has to work and my little sister is staying with friends. So it's just me and my mom."

I stashed my stuff in the trunk and got in the back seat of the car. I opened my mouth to say something but her mom spoke up.

"Call me Vicki. Calling me Mrs. Makes me feel old."

"Okay Vicki. Honestly, if I didn't know better, I would think you and Susan were sisters."

She smiled as Susan rolled her eyes. "Don't listen to him, Mom. He flirts with some of the female teachers too."

"Nothing wrong with a little flirting. It's been a while since I've had a young man flirt with me."

I smiled, looking back and forth between the two of them.
