Lacrosse

You approach the table with the Lacrosse players, and sign your name. They look you up and down, ask if you have any experience, and sign you on without hesitation. The main guy sitting at the table gives you a high five.

"Hey," he says. "Name's Jordan. I'm the team Captain. I really hope that we end up seeing you on the field. You look like you've got potential."

You feel the cheerleader's smoldering eyes still on you. There is something in that gaze oddly...dangerous?

"Hey? Ryan Brown, is that right?" Jordan says.

Holy crap he is repeating himself. You somehow totally missed what he was saying.

"Yes, that's right."

"Great. I'll talk to the coach on your behalf. There are a few other applicants, and obviously it's just one spot. But you say you have experience with Lacrosse, so I think you've got a shot."

"Great."

"Just in case, though," he says. "I would train, pretty hard. When we do tryouts you don't want to fail."

You nod, no issue for you. You've always prided yourself on working out, and having something to work for is a good motivation. You ignore that dangerous look in the cheerleader's eyes and head straight to the gym. Time to get just a little bit of work done.

A/N: I know it says "tryouts" but the player's position on the team is guaranteed, after this point. I do want to go through the tryouts for story reasons though.
