Chapter 4 by Nemo of Utopia Nemo of Utopia

Now who are these children?

Kurvanug, Neapolitan, Breksta, Romulus and Remus.

Though they had been married just over a decade Daniel and his wife were hard at work creating their own little pantheon. They had five children, and were working on their sixth. So far their pantheon included themselves and the following: Kurvanug, Queen of the Orcs and Goddess of Wars of Conquest or preemptive strikes: Neapolitan, Queen of the Amazons and Goddess of Defensive Wars and National Security: Breksta, goddess of restful slumber, protective dreams, and prophetic warnings in dreams: and the twins: Romulus and Remus, Gods of Brotherhood, Rulership, and Imperial Ambition.

In their previous incarnation Romulus and Remus had ended up fighting to the **** but their parents had done everything in their power to curb their tendencies towards sibling rivalry in this lifetime: aided greatly by the fact that they were raised by their divine parents, not a she-wolf. Thanks to that they were true brothers, they had each other's backs in all matters, and no one could conceive of them coming to blows over anything...

Breksta too was an incarnation of another pantheon's goddess reborn into the modern age through the union of 'Dream' and Nanshe, in specific from Lithuania. She was much as she was in her previous life, save that she could remember little of what things were like in in her previous life as a goddess: apparently due to the loss of so much of Lithuanian folklore from the collective human consciousness. She did remember she was a goddess of protection and dreams, along with the particulars of a few folktales that had survived, but she was very much still a child again.

Neapolitan was a reincarnation of Hypolitia, queen of the amazons, but now a full goddess not just a great heroine. She had a new name at her own instance, because she had sent her mother a 'Heralding Dream'. Her name related to her hair, which started black at the scalp then faded to red, then white, before it would break off. She was the goddess of defensive wars, national security, and Ice Cream, though that last one was not official yet.

Only their oldest, Kurvanug, was truly new to this era, and she was strange indeed. Hers was an incarnation of modern myth and folklore: a goddess of the "Orcs" from Tolkien, D&D, Warcraft, and Pathfinder. She looked the part, with Striped Neon and Leaf Green Skin, small tusks in her mouth, and lustrous black hair tied up in a topknot. At present Orcs, other than herself, existed only in her father's realm of "The Dreaming", but someday she would change that, she was only 12 years old but already was a living legend in the popular MMORPG video game "World Of Warcraft", a mighty champion of the "Horde" faction reckoned second only to "Thrall" himself in the minds of many members of the faction. She also was a true goddess, Lady of Wars of Conquest and preemptive strikes. Already she could summon a phantom platoon of orcish warriors, and cow those who challenged her authority with a look.

These divine children hardly ever left the compound, and none of them were over the age of majority, but they were worshiped by the just over 900 people of the town and surrounding environs in the rota along with their parents, and that gave them power.

Now they had a brother or sister on the way, and this was a problem, for up to now the cult had run their rota along with the days of the week, but with their gods soon to number eight, that would cease to work...

Where do we pick up the main thrust of the tale?
