Krueger comes through with weapons

The sun is beginning to set, and I’m returning from my shift at the dam. I know that the boys met with Krueger today, and I’m curious to find out how it went.

Luda’s house comes into view, and I stop to greet and chat briefly with Kapustin and Zhukov before heading for the door.

“Krueger Claus is coming to town!” Clarke sings when he sees me. “Get over here!”

My eyes widen and “Whoa!” Escapes my lips when I see the pile of weapons spread across the table.

“Where do you get all of weapons?” I ask, leaning my PPSh in a corner.

“Krueger came through for us. Here, check this out.” He says, holding up an MG. I take it out of his hands.

“Is heavy!” I cry, and set it back down.

“And the schnitzel eating bastard got us five Mausers and two MP40s on top of it!”

“Ammunition to match.” Hobbs adds.

“How he get all of this?” I ask. “Without getting caught?”

“He explained how he built it up over time, falsifying documents, making one piece go missing at a time. That’s why we’re only getting this now.” Hobbs explains to me.

“You know, I had him pegged wrong.” Clarke says. “I really thought he was no good, but this says something. I feel a lot better about him.”

“Did anything change at the dam?” Hobbs asks me.

“No. All is same.”

“Not that it matters, because Krueger is going to get us the garrison’s entire guard schedule.”

“We’ll know how many guys are there, hell, we’ll even know their fucking names!” Clarke adds with a laugh.

“So how do we get schedule?”

“That’s easy.” He says. “There’s going to be a dead drop tomorrow.”

“What is dead drop?”

“He’s going to go by earlier, and plant the documents. All we have to do, is show up later to pick them up.” He explains. “Less chance of being caught, if we’re not there at the same time.”

“We’ll have everything we need to do what we came here to do.” He continues. “It’s going to be at a barn. I know right where it is.”
