Chapter 5 by chyoavs chyoavs

What does Krissy do next?

Krissy runs away

Standing up a little uncertainly, Krissy wiped the tears from her face and walked to the bathroom. Locking the door behind herself, Krissy quickly started to wash out her mouth and clean her hands and face. After going through this process a few times, she quietly unlocked the bathroom door and peeked outside to see if her Stepfather was outside. After making sure that the coast was clear, she crept quietly through the trailer to her room and locked the door behind herself. The lock was only a cheap one built into the handle, which could be easily unlocked or even **** open by a grown man, but locking it gave her a sense of security.

Krissy quickly looked around for what she could take right now. It didn't come out too much. Besides the clothes on her back, she had a small school backpack in which she threw some clean clothes, an old jacket that would help some in the cold, and a handful of change in her pocket. It probably wouldn't get her far, but no matter what, it was better than staying here with her creep Stepfather any longer.

Taking these things, Krissy stepped out the front door of her family's trailer and set off down the road into the cold night. Immediately she was struck by how cold the night was. The wind was blowing hard, and it cut straight through her thin jacket, immediately chilling her.

But it didn't matter; she wasn't turning back now.

Krissy moved quickly down the dirt road her family lived on and onto the paved one that ran through the center of town. There wasn't anyplace she knew of open in town this late except the bar. She didn't want to go there, except maybe as a last resort. As of right now, she was planning on just getting the first ride she could get out of here, but if there wasn't anyone willing to pick her up, she could warm up in the bar for a little while. Hopefully, avoiding any potential hassle from the locals inside.

Setting out along the road, Krissy looked in either direction in the dark for the headlights of a vehicle she could get a ride from, but there was no traffic right now, so Krissy hugged herself a little tighter and tried not to let the cold get to her too much. Meanwhile, she looked in the direction of the rundown bar down the road and reminded herself that it was a last resort.

What's next?
