Chapter 4 by Cantalope Cantalope

What's next?

Kim: Rookie Dickgirl Commando

You take a steadying breath as the transport ground to a halt. You'd arrived at the burn zone. You slip the compact you'd been using to check over your face into your pocket. It wasn't as vain an activity as it might seem: your face is still shifting around from what it used to be. You used to be an average looking man, a little on the nerdy side and not particularly attractive in any meaningful way. Your appearance had certainly seen an upgrade since: you were downright adorable.

Still: you kind of enjoyed being a man and the **** transformation was not a welcome change. It helped that every other man you knew was going through the same thing. Nobody even questioned the compact.

You take a last look around at your squad, wondering if they were ready for this mission. As usual, you had the pleasant experience of recognizing just how attractive every woman in the transport was, immediately followed by the discomfort of remembering that they were all technically men. Sort of. You were still deciding what you thought about the transexuals, in regards to your own sexuality anyway. Using 'she' instead of 'he' came surprisingly easy, all things considered.

All units who entered alien space were solely comprised of former men. Not long after the war broke out it was discovered that women apparently had the capacity to be used as breeders by the aliens. You shudder at the thought, glad you lacked the necessary equipment to make you a target for breeding. Every woman captured was a horde of aliens produced so the military took extra precautions to avoid their capture. Hence shemale-only attack squads. This deployment was particularly large, an entire company for a sabotage run was unheard of, it made you nervous that you were doing an on-site briefing.

The door opened but none of the "women" moved towards it, "Alright you bunch of sissies, up and at 'em." The squad complained at the insult, a particularly low blow all things considered, but moved in response to the captains words. Captain Lee stood, straight and proud, watching you all with a no-nonsense expression as you filed out. Lee had spent time with the U.S. army and it showed in her manner and speech. She was hard but fair, inspiring but realistic. She ran a tight ship, training up rookies into halfway decent troops. You had faith in your captain, if not in your squad. Then there was the blooming crush on Lee that you weren't quite sure how to interpret. Did it count as gay? Was it half-straight half-gay? Would you be on bottom? That one wasn't even a question: of course you would be.

You never realized just how much you liked women in uniform. Damn.

"Alright ladies, we're going in to plant charges on tower C-" You frown and a sussurus from the soldiers confirmed your surprise. Tower C was waaay into enemy lines, the third such tower to rise as the name would suggest.

"Quiet!" The Captain barked, "We're taking down C with the hope that we can weaken the alien infrastructure. However, if we happen to run into other towers along the way..." Another transport pulled up, carrying a frankly absurd amount of C-4 explosive, "We'll be ready to take them down as well." Several of the women whooped and the general attitude improved greatly. Nothing like excessive firepower to raise morale.

The momentary excitement was short lived. As soon as the company moved past the wall, the mood dropped like a stone. Everyone was on edge. The eerie grey towers in the distance belied the tranquil silence.

Choe was one of the friends you'd made during training, a tough 'girl' who had some previous combat experience. Or at least knew her way around a firearm. You never quite got up the courage to ask Choe directly about her past but you got the feeling you wouldn't get an answer even if you did. The scarring on her arms and back made you question whether the nature of her combat experience was strictly legal.

Choe spoke up when they started to see the first of the towers root-like tendrils, "It's too quiet." You nod, not daring to take your attention from the abandoned buildings around you. This was the most open route but even you, with your Cliffnotes military training, could tell it still left you wide open for an ambush.

You could feel the unease ratchet up, higher and higher, until some soldiers were downright whimpering. Suddenly -CRASH- the entire side of the building on your right collapsed, revealing two enormous writhing centipede-like aliens. Your mind identified them in a detached way as siege-breakers, tunneling aliens with crushing jaws and spiny legs. Your body was too busy shooting at the aliens, along with the rest of your company, to care.

The bullets thudded hard against tough armor, not bouncing off but not penetrating far enough to cause much damage. With a screeching roar, one beast reared-up and fell forwards, straight at you. Time seemed to slow down and you were frozen in a moment of indecision. Choe was on your right side, amazingly calm considering how many rounds she'd unloaded into the charging monster with no obvious effect, and the Captain on your left, shouting orders and directing the response.

Left or Right?
