"Alright," Iruka said, "you all will be assigned into groups of three. The teams will consist of the following."

A Few Minutes Later

"Team 7," Iruka said. "Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, and Hyuga Hinata."

As their names were called, both Hinata and Naruto held each others hand under the tabel, squezzing their hand in celebration of their team assignment. Sakura, to her disappointment, was teamed with Kiba and Shino.

Iruka placed his clipboard on the desk. "Alright. That's everyone. Your dismissed for lunch. Your team Jonin will be here after you get back."

Every genin stood up, some of them still staring at the Hyuga heiress and the blonde haired screw up. "Naruto-kun," Iruka said just as Naruto was about to leave. "I need a word with you."

Naruto, telling Hinata he would catch up later and kissing her on the cheek, went down to see what Iruka wanted.

"You know why I assigned you to your team, right?" Iruka's voice wasn't the usual 'scolding teacher' voice Naruto had heard for nearly 12 years. It was more like a concerned parent.

"Uh..." Naruto said, unsure what Iruka was getting at, "Something about teamwork and trusting our allies and..."

"You idiot!" Iruka shouted resuming his usual manner, "I meant why I paired you up with Hinata-chan!"

Naruto gulped. In the back of his head, he knew what Iruka meant, but he didn't want to believe that Iruka knew what had happened.

Iruka sighed, "Look. I'm not going to ask what happened to make you and Hinata-chan so close, but I figured since you two liked each other that you would function well as a team. However, if you lose focus and goof off with her, I'll be **** to break up your team. Understand?"

Giving a quick "Yessir," Naruto ran off to find Hinata, leaving Iruka in the classroom alone.

"That kid," Iruka said, shaking his head.

After looking for a few minutes, Naruto finally found Hinata sitting alone on a bench, holding a picnic basket.
