Keep the towel on

Your experience with Cassie was so successful that you decide to trust your instincts on this one, as well. Keeping the towel wrapped around your waist, and running your fingers through your wet hair to straighten it up a bit, you go to the door and open it.

Much to your disappointment, it’s a guy on the other side of the door.

“Can I help you?” you ask, trying to hide your disappointment.

“Are you Connor?” he asks.

When you nod, he holds out his hand and says, “Hi, I’m Jamie Hyde. You told me to meet you here about ‘peer counseling.’”

Dumbfounded, you say, “You’re Jamie? I thought Jamie was a ....” Inwardly, you smack yourself for not checking the gender on a name that can be used by both.

Reluctantly, you step out of the way and let him in. “Um... Sorry about that. You got here sooner than I expected, and I was just getting out of the shower. Give me a sec, will you?”

You have him sit, and you grab some clothes and step into the bathroom to change. While you do, he tells you a bit about himself. You learn that he is a sophomore. Last year was the first that he was away from home for the first time. He got into the party scene and got so distracted by chasing girls that his grades suffered, and he was put on academic probation. His parents sent him back for this year of school with strict instructions that he needed to get his hormones under control so he can focus on his schooling.

You step out of the bathroom, fully dressed, and much less optimistic about this session than you had been a few minutes ago. You sit down across from Jamie, wondering what to even say to a guy who is looking to have less sex than he otherwise could. You try to find a way to kindly let him know that you’re not going to be the best peer counselor for him.

Before you can speak, however, there is a knock at the door. You get up to answer it, and, much to your surprise, you see Cassie looking at you through the doorway.

“Cassie?” you ask. “What are you doing here?”

“Can I come in?” she asks.

Ordinarily, that would be a stupid question. Why wouldn’t you let a nymphomaniac into your room? You look over your shoulder, however, and see Jamie sitting there, and you wonder if that is such a good idea.
