James' eyes scanned the screen, his heart racing with discomfort. He couldn't believe what he was reading. Marie's boss, Duriel, was flirting with her? And she seemed to be receptive to it?

As James read through their conversation again and again, he felt a growing sense of unease in his stomach. Why hadn't Marie mentioned this to him? Was she hiding something from him?

He couldn't shake off the feeling that he was being left out of something important. Something that could potentially threaten their relationship.

James' mind wandered back to all the times they had talked about trust and honesty in their relationship. Had Marie been lying to him all along?

The more he thought about it, the more uncomfortable James became. He didn't know how much longer he could keep this secret hidden, as he thinks to himself.

Just as James reels from the previous messages he had read of marie’s phone, he noticed marie is texting Duriel back.

Marie: "Ugh, fine. You know I hate it when you call me baby. And as a reminder only one drink and only as co-workers"

Duriel (her boss): "Ahaha okay baby! One drink it is then!"

James felt a wave of relief wash over him as he read those words. Maybe Marie wasn't being completely unfaithful after all.

He noticed how sweet and innocent Marie sounded in that message - almost like she was trying to reassure him that nothing was going on between them.

James felt his anxiety start to dissipate as he realized maybe this whole thing was just a misunderstanding.
