Chapter 20 by pt3579 pt3579

What's left of his consciousness tells him to...

Keep it clear and walk away

Leon bit his lips hard to keep his mind clear. He used bandages to wrap the plug, with the hope that smell of her juice in the air would be less intoxicating. He quickly backed up to the door and escaped the room.

“Hey...” Before he locked the door with the key again, he asked with a bit of guilt, “What’s your name?”

The vampire girl was too busy drowning herself in the sensation of masturbating pleasure to answer. Leon didn’t even know if she had heard him. She must’ve been a nice girl before. After she turned, she didn’t want to hurt anyone, even when she had the chance. What Umbrella had done was unforgivable.

He sighed helplessly and locked the door behind him. He could still hear the lustful moans in the room, but that just sowed more seeds of anger in his mind.

He washed the plugs in the sewage before plugging them in the panel to unlock the storage area door. The chemical flamethrower inside had its tank full, which was the best thing he could hope for at the moment.

Returning to the lower waterway, he torched every G-Adults and vampires in his way. It was extremely effective as the vampires could not regenerate from a pile of ash and the G-Adults were suffering pain continuously from the fire and slowed down.

Leon came safely back to the middle waterway. The flamethrower was too large for him to carry around, so he left it in the preparation room after its fuel tank was emptied. He still missed a rook plug, though, so he had to take the chance and went to check the work room.

After opening a shutter, he took a lift that could get him to the upper waterway. He was inside the work room right away, but nothing in here was useful or functional except for a generator. The door, based on his experience, was locked before but was picked from the outside. Not knowing what to expect, he pulled out his shotgun and was ready for everything.

In the corridor outside, there was a man in a black combat suit with tactical glasses lying by the wall, holding a rook plug in his hand. The letters on his suit said “U.B.C.S.”, short for which he didn’t know yet. The man’s trousers were unzipped and his flaccid cock was still dripping the fluid.

The moment Leon saw the bite marks and fresh blood on the man’s neck he knew he was beyond saving. He needed the rook plug in the man’s hand, so he got to be very careful. Although, again, the safest approach would be just shooting him down first.

“Ah...” The man suddenly woke up and groaned. He noticed that someone was around and tried to reach for the magnum pistol near his hand, but he lacked the strength to do so. He hasn’t turned yet, although there was not much time left.

“I’m sorry. There’s nothing I can do.” Leon knelt down beside the dying man, showing him the final respect.

“Reboot...the generator...” The man’s voice was faint, and with every word he spoke he spilled blood, “Help...Claire...”

“Claire? You know Claire? She’s down here, too?” Leon was shocked to hear it. On one hand, he was happy to know that Claire had survived and made it this far, on the other he deeply knew that this place was even more dangerous than in the police station for a girl to traverse.

“And...don’t let me turn...please...” The man tried again to reach his magnum but failed. With another breath exhaled, he fell completely silent.

Leon took a heavy gasp and held the man’s head at gunpoint. The silver bullet pierced his temple and totally destroyed his brain.

He closed the eyes of this brave man, whose name was still unknown to him, with respect. The body didn’t turn to ashes, so at least this man died as a human.

He grabbed the rook plug on the ground, and then he took a glance at the magnum pistol that the man was trying to reach for. It was a .50 caliber ammunition using Lightning Hawk magnum, which was basically a monster killer. He would honour the man’s last wish with it.

He went back into the work room and rebooted the generator. The surroundings were mildly shaking and he heard some humming sounds from the north district. There must be some giant mechanisms working over there.

“I hope you’re fine, Claire...” Standing by the generator, Leon whispered with the remaining optimism in him.

So with the three missing plugs found now, he rushed back to the monitor room in the south district and completed the puzzle. The door to the U-area where the the garbage room and the main power room resided was opened.

He looked through the window once again. Ada was still lying down there. The moment of confrontation was nigh, but he still didn’t know what he should say.

The door to the garbage room was locked and the panel controlling it was not working due to power shortage, so he had to get through the corridor and went to the main power room to do some trick.

The total power in the sewer system was low, so he had to reroute the power in the middle district to here. The green light on the panel outside the garbage room was on again. Everything was just fine, so far.

Just when Leon was about to return to the garbage room, the door he came in was destroyed by a giant monster.

He didn’t recognize its big, sharp claws and the gray, twisted head at first, but as soon as he saw the man’s head with blonde hair on its chest, he knew it was the monster he once fought in the underground facility of the police station, another creation of the G-Virus.

“It’s still alive!?” Leon slipped through a deformed shutter and ran as fast as he could.

G2 quickly crushed the shutter and chased Leon all the way to the construction site of the proposed water purification room. The platform was small and fragile, and Leon thought the crane in the site could be of use.

He fired his pistol at its eyeball on the shoulder. G2 immediately screamed in pain and knelt down, with its quite normal left hand covering its eyeball on the shoulder. Leon was surprised, as he just remembered that silver bullets were not as effective in their last encounter. Why were they now?

Though he did not intend to find out the answer here. He switched to the Lightning Hawk and aimed at G2’s head, quickly gunned it down.

“Let’s do this!” Leon punched the red button on the control panel.

While G2 was trying to get back up, it was heavily hit by the large crate swung by the crane. It was barely standing up before, so one hit was enough to push it past the edge of the platform.

It was desperately trying to cling on the crate and growling angrily, but the overall weight was too heavy for the crane. With one snap on the chain, G2 fell into the abyss with its screams echoing. A huge crashing sound came from the bottom seconds later and everything went into silence.

“Let’s hope that’s the last of him.” Leon gasped for air at the edge of the platform. He could see nothing down there, but it’s always good to have some faith in lady fortune.

With everything else settled, Leon circled back to the U-area through a narrow staircase. Once again he was standing in front of the garbage room, and the lever was with his grasp.

Yes, there was a vampire inside. And yes, that was Ada. Whatever the outcome of this confrontation might be, only one thing was sure - there was no turning back. His view of the world would be different forever.

And he pulled the lever anyway.

Chapter 8 Ends. What happens next?
