Keep Talking

I considered going back and just finishing preparing her tea, but judging from her expression, Raven may drift off to sleep on me. That would just make preparing the tea a waste of time. I mean, I could wake her up when it was done, but that was just rude. "Those mutts didn't hurt you, did they?" I asked, keeping an ear out for the whistle of the tea kettle.

Sighing, Raven stopped getting so cozy. "Little sore from clinging to that tree with a dog hanging off me, but other than that, I'm fine," she assured me. That was good to know. I was curious as to why they attacked her in the first place. Were they even really dogs? I mean, if this company could make fake people, why not fake dogs? It would explain why they didn't manage to bite her before she made it to the tree. And why she didn't think to fly. ...could she fly? Again, I had no idea.

Pushing all that aside, however, I decided to have a little fun with her. "You sure are," I muttered, hopefully loud enough to hear, but at such a volume that it sounded like I was trying to go unnoticed. Raven looked briefly puzzled before her cheeks turned red and she bit her lip. I had, after all, just called her "fine". As in the attractive sort of way.

The growing whistle of the tea kettle interrupted our conversation, a thing she seemed relieved of, if her expression was any indication. Pouring her a cup of tea, I brought it out to her. It was adorable watching her try to squirm out of the blanket. She had snuggled so much that Raven was a bit stuck...though after a while, she got her arms out.

Her face bright red, the mini mystic took the tea cup from me and sipped it. "Thank you," she muttered, embarrassed at the trouble she had just experienced. I was hoping that it was because she thought I was attractive and now felt like she had damaged her standing in my eyes. Perhaps it was time for a little more fun.

"Still cold?" I asked. She nodded as she sipped. I sat next to her on the couch. "C'mere. You can use my body heat to warm up faster." Her eyes widened before she started coughing. I think I made the tea go down the wrong tube. ...but would she go with it?
