Katie opened the front door.

Stood there at the doorway was Katie's best friend, Tom Edwards. He wore thick-rimmed glasses and had a boyish grin on his face. Two colorful sleeve tattoos covered his arms, and he held a coffee in one hand and a bottle of water in the other.

"I was going for my morning run and thought I'd bring you a coffee since it's your first day at the new job."" He said with a boyish grin and handed the coffee to Katie.
