Kate's New Powers Part 8

A deer that much to Kate's shock seems to be talking out loud to itself however upon entering the clearing Kate sees the deer turn towards her and look at her for several moments before saying in an inquisitive tone of voice that also sounds like the voice of a girl around her own age :

Hello.

Are you a regular rabbit or are you like me a person who has become an animal?

Realizing that this talking deer is a girl like her who also like her has been transformed into an animal Kate does her best to indicate to the deer who claims to be a person that she is indeed a person who has been transformed into a rabbit and moments later, the increasingly freaked out Kate is relieved to hear the deer respond in a kind tone of voice :

So you are a person who like me who has become an animal though where I became a deer you became a rabbit.

I am sure that you must have many questions though since you cannot yet talk in your new form the way I can in mine I will do my best to explain everything I have learned about what happened to me and now to you.

However, first I will introduce myself.

My name is Rachel.

Rachel Amber.

Or at least it was when I was human though I suppose that my human identity is not all that important now that I am no longer human.

To which the formerly human Kate feels her heart race upon hearing this talking deer claim that she is the missing Rachel Amber who according to the many missing posters plastered around Blackwell has been missing for some time before moments later the talking deer claiming to be Rachel Amber goes on to say :
