Chapter 8 by Franz127 Franz127

More adventures with Kat?

Kat's Place

Rushing into the car, I find myself questioning where the hell are we going.

"Kat, where are we going?"

"Where the wind takes us" she sarcastically says

"Seriously Kat, where are we going?"

"To get drinks, dear boy"

"You realize I am not old enough to buy ****, right?"

"Good thing we ain't going to a bar then"

"Then I ask again, where the fuck are we going Kat?"

"To raid the minifridge of my motel room"

"Okay what if I don't want to raid the mini fridge, I got school tomorrow you know?"

"Never took you for a square" She teases.

"Says the 40 year old hanging out with an 18 year old," I jab back, "You know the driver probably thinks you're my uncool mom trying to get her son to live a little" Pointing out the driver who has thus so far been ignoring us.

"Oh and would your mother do this," Kat says before grabbing my face and pulling me into a kiss, "Now he thinks we're either not mother and son or a really fucked up couple."

"Yeah alright Tom Brady," I say blushing.

"Fuck you," she says as she playfully pushes me away.

We continue in the car giggling like teenagers, till we arrive at Kat's place. Going upstairs and inside to her room, I witness probably the saddest motel room of all time. There's essentially a small and also uncomfortable looking full bed, her suitcase still on the floor a mini fridge and a small plasma tv on a dresser.

"Welcome to my humble abode," Kat says entering the room.

"I think you need to go apartment hunting if you're going to stay here any longer." I say pointing out the lack of a nice room.

"Depends on how long I am going to be here, I think I can make this place homely in three months?" she says, "However if I were to go hunting I need someone to come with me, but I doubt you have any taste"

"Fuck you" I say back to her jab at me.

"Settle down boy," Kat says walking over to the mini fridge and pulling out a bottle of cheap champagne. "It's not the greatest but it'll work" she says presenting the bottle to me.

"Yeah, I've never heard of this Jean Ralphio guy" Pointing out the label on the bottle.

"That must mean it's good." Cracking open the bottle and pouring it into two plastic cups and handing me one, "To my new job and new friend" She says raising the cup to the air.

I raise mine too. "Cheers," I say before taking a drink.

Kat takes off her suit jacket and and lays down on the bed, not before patting the other side signaling me to sit too.

"Come on, lie with me" She says as I'm moving over before grabbing my arm and pulling me onto the bed.

"Jesus, I almost spilled my drink Kat."

"It's fine, it's cheap and if there is a for sure, we are finishing that bottle"

"Well I better get working then," taking another swig not necessarily enjoying the taste of the champagne.

"Exactly" Kat says as she does the same.

It was from here the night got wild, we kept on drinking and talking, at some point Kat put on some music and **** me to dance with her. About two hours into the night and one empty Jean Ralphio Kat started talking about her past life.

"It's unfair CJ," she says grabbing another bottle from the mini fridge, "Man are they like sponsored by this guy" Pointing out the same bottle.

"I think you're losing focus Kat?"

"Right, it's unfair," she says again, "Life's unfair it's all unfair"

"How so?" I ask inquisitively.

"I have been married three times, none of which have worked out, my last divorce my friends took my husbands side and essentially ditched me" She says as she starts crying, "I have two daughters, a little older then you and they both decided that their mom wasn't worth their time, I barely talk to them anymore"

"I'm sorry Kat, I didn't know"

"It's okay, you aren't supposed to know," She says stifling her breaths, "When I told them about the divorce they didn't say sorry mom or nothing, all I got was a you shouldn't of rushed into that marriage. And I do that you know, I get excited and I rush into things, you know. That's also why I went out here for the job opportunity, to get away from the same towns with the same friends and being the same shitty mom whom her daughters ignore"

Kat is now sitting on the floor and I sit right beside her, "I don't know you very well Kat, but I don't think you were a shitty mother. And maybe this is me just me speaking from my experience, but I have a shitty mom and you're nothing like her so you can't be that all bad"

"I'm getting drunk with an 18 year old whom I just met so yeah, I might be that bad"

"Yeah not gonna lie this is very weird"

"Super" she corrects.

"But I'm having a good time I guess, and I can't say you have treated me horribly, so no I don't think you're that bad,"

"You're a sweet boy," She says kissing me on the cheek and laying her head on my shoulder, "So how bad is your mom?"

"Pretty bad"

"Okay well I need details"

"I thought we were getting over the sad stuff?"

"Well I thought you were supposed to make me feel better about myself, I am a sad, sobbing, grieving woman who needs comfort you know?" Kat says going back to her playful mood, "Plus I want to see how bad your mommy issues are?"

"I don't have mommy issues!"

"That's what someone with mommy issues would say"

"Fuck off"

"Okay sore subject, I'll ask about it another time it seems"

"It's getting late I should probably head home"

"You can just stay here if you want?"

"No my sister would probably die worrying about me"

"The one at the restaurant?"

"Her and my other sister"

"Oh so you have two"

"What? Sisters? I have two why is that hard to believe?"

"I didn't mean sisters?"

"Two of what then?"

"Mommies"

"Fuck off," I say pushing a laughing Kat off my shoulder and getting up.

"Come on I'll call you a ride, I ain't letting you walk home or take the bus when it's dark and you're drunk like this"

"We didn't finish the second bottle"

"Well we have time while we wait for the ride so drink up," She says opening her phone, "Also what's your number"

"Huh"

"I ain't gonna keep finding you on the bus so what's your number, address too I need it for the ride"

I gave her my number and address. And we both made it halfway through the second bottle before my ride came. She hugged me and said if I ever needed to talk to call her and to get home safe. And after that I sat down in the back of the car and passed out.

Home?
