Still a mockery of justice, but getting in some mockery of Alderp as well!
Kangaroo Court Chaos, part 5
(Yeesh, this is dragging on longer than I intended... But I'm enjoying roasting Alderp too much XD.)
"First, during the interrogation, the defendant confessed to having had friendly conversation with the Devil King General by the name of Beldia," Sena read off.
'So they're twisting that until it outright snaps eh?' Kazuma thought.
"Also, he erected a barrier around the cemetery, resulting in multiple hauntings," Sena continued.
'Aqua, not me.'
"His party also set off multiple Explosions outside of town, altering the local ecosystem, and creating noise pollution."
'I'd like to see YOU guys try and talk Megumin down from blowing shit up!'
"And that's basically it," Sena stated.
"I have an explanation for all of that!" Kazuma cut in.
"Don't bother!" Alderp finally snapped again. "The evidence is clearly against you, and you DID confess to the crime of using Random Teleport on a dangerous object, meaning you are guilty of at least that much! As such, I demand a guilty verdict!"
"Spoken like the tyrant you are," Kazuma replied.
"You have insulted Lord Alderp enough!" the judge shouted, banging his gavel again. "You will speak more carefully from this point forward, or you will be held in contempt of this court!"
"I have nothing BUT contempt for this court!" Kazuma retorted. (Another reference here, cookie for the one who spots it!) "This whole trial is just a formality at best, and a sham at worst! It's clear you lot have already made up your minds about me, so how about we just drop the pretenses already?"
"How dare you!?" Alderp growled. "I am an upstanding member of society, and I will not listen to you question my rule and service to this community! I care too deeply for the public to allow you to run fre-" Ding! "...will someone get rid of that damn bell!? It's clearly unreliable!" Alderp roared.
"Suuuure it is buddy," Kazuma drawled, digging his pinkie in his ear again, the epitome of zero fucks left to give as some guards complied.
