Oh ho, now Kazuma's going in!

Kangaroo Court Chaos, part 3.

Chapter 275 by Sexdream Sexdream

Kazuma stood, and began to describe the battle with the Destroyer, and how they had gone inside it and prevented it from destroying Axel Town. "At the time, I was unaware of the law about using Random Teleport on hazardous materials, even though I freely confess it should have been obvious," he admitted. "And even had I known, I still would have done it, as it was the best option available to me at the time. And I don't regret it in the slightest, as because of it, no one was killed. I did NOT deliberately target Lord All Derp," he continued, making sure to deliberately enunciate the malicious misnaming so no one could miss it, getting Alderp angry again. "And I'm surprised he thinks I did," Kazuma grinned savagely. "I would have thought a lord disliked by his people would have had enough deliberate attempts on his life that he could tell the difference between one and an accident."

"You!" Alderp spluttered at Kazuma's audacity. "Is this a trial trying you, or a roast on me!?" he demanded.

"It's obviously the former," Kazuma rolled his eyes. "If we actually roasted you, you'd be providing more food for your populace than you ever did in power. Though that's not saying nearly as much about your weight as it should."

There was naturally an uproar at this, most of the court laughing their asses off, though a few stuck ups were chewing Kazuma out for his blatant disrespect. The judge tried to restore order, but found that his gavel had gone missing. "Where did my gavel go!?" he demanded looking around, unable to see Ria floating near him.

"Where indeed?" she asked with a clearly amused tone as she toyed with said implement in her hands. Like hell she was going to let the judge interrupt THIS show!

"How dare you insult me like that to my face!" Alderp roared at Kazuma.

"Well, I'd insult you like that behind your back, but my horse is already tired!" Kazuma replied back, resulting in a renewal of the laughter.

(Cookie for anyone who knows the reference!)

Finally, the judge resorted to banging his fist on the table, getting enough attention to tell a guard to bring him another gavel. Alderp, seething, sat back down as most of the court slowly managed to smother their laughter.

Once the judge had things back under control, he proceeded to act like that chaos and the embarrassment of losing a gavel didn't happen. "Prosecution, your opinion?" he asked Sena, who had managed to keep her composure over the whole thing. "The bell hasn't gone off at any point, implying he was being honest."

"Your Honor," Sena stated. "We do have evidence that the defendant has connections to the Devil King." Though she was thinking, 'Flimsy evidence, but apparently good enough for Lord Alderp to press the issue...' She then continued, "And that the defendant has some questionable qualities. We have witnesses to testify to various misdeeds of his."

Kazuma sat back down himself, wondering how they'd try to twist things.
