Kalypise, Angel of Purity

As the banners get larger, it becomes quite obvious to whom the symbol belongs. You see a golden flower spread on a light green background. The symbol belongs to the followers of Kalypise, a devout group of people who uphold the values of truth, purity, and abstinence.

You've never given much thought about joining a religion, especially one that seemed so controlling. Although you've yet to have any sexual encounters, there were a few people at the adventurer's academy you had your eye on. You always assumed you would make the leap one day. Still though, it's not like you must join the followers - Aurelia insisted that you would be made just a servant. Perhaps you would not be as beholden to the rules.

You reply with the name, "Kalypise, I think."

"Correct again! I know we often get a bad reputation, but I can assure you that we are all good people."

"I see," you reply.

Aurelia continues, "It is my solemn promise that we will take good care of you."

"That's good."

"Are you familiar with the teachings of Kalypise?"

"Very vaguely. I learned the basics back at the academy."

"Ah then it was most definitely misconstrued. You see, Kalypise gazed upon the world and all the peoples and their relationships. And she noticed just how miserable the people were. 'How are all these people trying to communicate with one another?' she asked. 'These people are broken and lost, and here they are trying to bond with people who are broken and lost.' So wise Kalypise devised a solution. It's an obvious solution, in fact. Before people try to engage with others, they must first be made whole.

"And how does one become whole? By finding purity. Distangle yourself from the worries and frets of others and find the peace inside of you. Remain pure. Sex is a dark path, leading you away from being the purified complete you. You can never be whole if you've given a piece of yourself to another. And thus Kalypise blazed the trail to righteousness and salvation from this corrupt, dark world."

You listen intently to her words. They make an odd bit of sense, although you aren't sold completely on the ideals. Maybe sex can just be sex, after all. But you say nothing, nodding along when prompted.

"Have you given a piece of yourself to anyone?"

You blush at the notion and look away. "N-no, I haven't." You feel suddenly embarrassed, although you have no real reason to be. You gain the courage to look up at Aurelia and see her smiling back at you. Her eyes are compassionate to your confession, although strangely they seem to glow and seemed more red than violet. You look away, assuring yourself that you just made it up.

Finally you arrive at the monastery. The gates are open and the horse and carriage rickets along without any problem. Aurelia navigates the horses to the stable, where two girls soon come out and greet her. They are dressed in common clothes, one with pale blonde hair and fair skin, and the other has rich black hair with a dark complexion.

"Good afternoon, Ingrid. Good afternoon, Vera."

"Good afternoon, Sister Aurelia." The two reply in unison. You are unable to tell which of the two is Ingrid and which is Vera.

"Please take this to my room."

"Of course, Sister Aurelia." The dark-haired girl steps forward and says. "Come, Ingrid."

The blonde nods. The two take the satchel from Aurelia and walk back into the monastery. As they turn around they both take a curious glance at you, unsure of what your presence means.

"Splendid," Aurelia says, getting out of the carriage. You follow suit. She begins to walk back towards the front of the main building. "Now, to get you situated, we will need to introduce you to Sister Constancia. She's, um, a bit rough around the edges, but she means well." You follow her with baited breath. This is a new chapter in your life. This begins something entirely new, and all you have to do is walk through that door.

Aurelia pulls open the large wooden door for you. You find yourself in the large entrance hall of the monastery, and inside the room is one of the strangest sights you've ever seen.
