Kailyn And Mindy Get What They Need

While Zoey and Kenny were making up and the others were each trying to enjoy their activities Kailyn and Mindy had reached the bottom of the mountain and drove out towards town. Mindy felt some real relief in her chest now that she was finally on the way to deal with the little issue she created for herself. Of course, it would have been smarter if the Asian girl never let Brian finish inside her last night, but instead, she let him do a total of three or four times. Not to mention that Kenny had even done it that night during the party, though at the time that wasn't as big of a deal for her. Regardless, this was what had happened and Mindy was ready to just fix the issue and be over it.

"So...Brian, huh? Where did that come from?" Kailyn asked the younger girl while heading up the small back road towards the main access road,

"I don't know, honestly," Mindy replied with a blush, "It just kinda happened, Brian has this way where he presses all the buttons and says the right things to get what he wants,"

"You're not saying that you regret anything are you?" Kailyn immediately asked back with a concerned tone,

"No, not at all, actually I like that about him. Somehow, and it still confuses me to this minute, I work with Brian. I like the things he does with me, we have this little thing and when we're together I feel like we're the only two in the world at that moment," Mindy said with a near dreamy expression,

"Well, that's a sweet thought," Kailyn admitted, "But I'm sure you're well aware that Brian isn't a one girl guy,"

"I know, but even still, he did pick me to mess around with. So, if I'm that girl for right now, that's all I really need. I'm not naive, I doubt it's going to go anywhere but I really need what he's offering, I need to be able to let go of things I thought I couldn't live without," Mindy vaguely explained back,

Kailyn glanced back ready to reveal what she knew but the words stuck like a lump in her throat. Swallowing hard Kailyn tightened her grip on the while and then cleared her throat, "What do you mean by that?" The ebony girl asked instead,

Mindy readjusted in her seat and glanced out the window, she felt a touch of embarrassment as she thought of how to respond. Kailyn had always been close with her and Kenny, acting like an older sister but even still, they weren't ever that close. However, Mindy couldn't deny the relief she was also getting from finally being able to talk to someone about everything, not just bits and pieces for once. The Asian girl's resistance wained away and before she knew it Mindy was telling Kailyn about everything that had happened this week with her and Kenny, as well as how she always felt for the man.

This conversation brought the pair all the way down to the nearby strip mall, pulling into the parking lot Kailyn turned the car off and looked over to Mindy, "So you're okay with putting these intense feelings for Kenny aside, and instead replacing them with a loose relationship with Brian?" She asked with a raised brow,

"Yes," Mindy said with a short nod, "The way I'm seeing it, I wasted so much time trying to get with Kenny, and when I did it nearly ruined everything. I almost lost him completely, and that's when I realized I'd much rather have him as a friend than not at all. Brian, on the other hand, we were semi-close when we got to the cabin and now we've only gotten closer. He's getting something he wants and I'm getting something I've always wanted. Then when we're done with his week and head back to the real world, we'll probably just go our separate ways," She finished with a small shrug,

Kailyn was surprised by Mindy's response, it didn't really sound like her. Sure she can understand a girl just wanting to have a little fun, hell that's why she ended up hooking up with Brian but this was different. Mindy sounded lost like she didn't believe in the concept of love anymore and that was more worrying than anything else for her. When Kailyn saw the way Mindy would look at Kenny or the way she just described her feelings for him just now, she could almost feel the passion in her voice, but with the way she talked about Brian, it felt hollow.

Just as Kailyn was about to open her mouth to argue this thought with Mindy, to possibly see if she could convince her that perhaps she's not dealing with her feelings properly Mindy opened the door to the car. "So these pills, do you think it's smart I grab more than just the one?"

Kailyn let out a low exhale and reluctantly followed the girl out of the car, "Guess we'll save that conversation for later," Kailyn muttered under her breath, "Yeah, they are expensive but from what you told me, it'd be a lot safer for you if you bought a couple at least," Kailyn replied to Mindy as the pair headed into the nearest convenience store. "I'm gonna need one or two myself," Kailyn tacked on as an aside to herself.

Hey guys, just wanted to say so happy to be back and writing for this story. I still remember exactly where it was heading and what the ending was going to be and so hopefully we'll get there in due time. Not to mention I am happy to interact with these characters again and of course all of you guys!
