Beth and Kyle had a fun evening at Bottoms Up. Dive bar comfort food and scantily clad ladies were just the ticket for a young Marine like Kyle, and the girls all seemed to want to be his friend. Beth had little doubt that several of the half-clothed honeys slipped Kyle their phone number, and a few disgruntled looks from some other male patrons let her know that Kyle was definitely drawing a lot of attention.
For her part, Beth drank responsibly and acted the gracious host, talking Kyle up to the girls she thought were sweet and warning him against the ones who she thought were skanks.

By the time they ordered an Uber, around 10:30, Beth was floating on the good feelings of the evening. It's been too long since I've been out to a place like that. Brian was becoming such a stick in the mud, and Beth's only dark spot on the night was the reminder of what fun used to be like. {if Shame < 50

They arrived back at the apartment to meet Brian, who was out of his suit and into casual clothes. His hair was wet from a shower and he smelled clean. Kyle and his brother hugged and began to reconnect while Beth pulled out some snacks and drank sparkling water. Brian rolled his eyes a little when Kyle told him where they had been, but he laughed as Kyle punched all the various phone numbers he had received into his phone right there in front of them.
