Chapter 8 by Valkyria Valkyria

What now?

Just go there.

You decide it's best to do what these people tell you seeing as you are not in a place where you feel comfortable.

slowly, you begin to move forward along the large corridor, only the sound of your footsteps hitting the clear marble tiles of the floor echoes as you walk towards your destination. You find this place kind of unsettling, every signle corridor you passed was exactly the same, and being the only person in this place did not help.

Shortly after walkingthrough various hallways, you find the exact door you were looking for, except it has a a note taped to it:

"Just moved to section E3! Suck it, Margaret."

What.

That's the only word that crosses your mind of at the very moment, confusion taking over your mind for almost the hundredth time since you arrived here. Ignoring whatever the sign was supposed to meant(you didn't know anyways), you start walking mindlessly around this seemingly endless corridors. You're sure you'll eventually find some kind of indication of where you are exactly and how are you supposed to get to that specific section, atleast you wish you will.

Somewhere during your aimless walking, you failed to notice a large object in standing in the middle of your way and, by consecuence, crashing into it, or rather, him. After getting yanked back into reality, you take a step back, you notice the tall figure in front of you. Before you stands a tall fair skinned man. Black, short wavy hair falls gracefully over a well defined face. Expresive baby blue eyes stare right back at you with a worried expression.

-Are you alright?- he asks, his English accent can be easily identified as he speaks.

Unable to pry your gaze away from the man's piercing eyes, you fail to hear his question. -Cute eyes- you comment without thinking first, but once you do you instantly regret it. What is wrong with you? -I, uh, I mean, I'm looking for Mrs O'Reilly?- you manage to say without stuttering too much.

you watch as his expression change quickly, a small chuckle escapes his lips -Thanks- he answers with a smile as you feel blood rushing towards your cheeks in response to your embarrassment.

-I'm supposed to deliver her something actually, if you'd like I can take there- as if sent by your guarding angel or something, he offers. Without thinking it too much, you nod feeling saved from continue to walk for all eternity in this weird place you ended up in. With a small smile on his face, he signals you to follow him.

As you two walk towards whatever is E3, you discover this guy isn't much of a talkative person since you have to ask and ask again to gain better and longer answers from him. Luckily, you manage to get him to explain the why of the identical, endless corridors. He says it's actually a new security system, designed that way so if anyone who's supposed to stay inside tries to escape, they'd get lost, mainly because only a very people get to know the correct direction to get in and out of there in a few minutes, avoiding getting stuck for a long while. He also tells you there aren't as many rooms as it seems, most doors are fake. Interesting. Other than that, he refuses to continue talking about that theme no matter how much you press.

After a while, you both reach wooden doble doors at the end of the corridors. They seem to stick out more that they normally would anywhere else, probably since it clashes with the **** similarity of the previous hallways. You wonder if this pair of doors is the only way out of this maze-like place.

He pushes the doors and, when you pass through those doors, you feel like you suddenly teleported to a whole different other area. The warm light is gone, leaving place to a cold, white light with a small blue tone. This area isn't as brightly illuminated as before. The walls are painted a dark white, or a really light gray. White metal windowed doors are located on the left side of this new corridor. There are no paintings or whatsoever. The only thing that remains the same are the clear marble tiles on the floor.

He guides you through this new place until another male appears, he's a minor character who I don't think won't appear again, so I won't bother with a description of what he looks like.... Sigh, okay fine. But a small one.

His skin is tanned, contrasting with his light olive eyes. His dark brown hair is trimmed short but you can still make out very small curls on it. He's called Lionel, how do you know this? Magic. Moving on.

To your misfortune, he informs the pair of you he needs your mystery guide's help on something "classified". Your companion turns towards you and with a gentle voice asks if you'll manage on your own now. Still not knowing why, you answer with another nod. After a short explanation of how to get to the new office, he and Lionel take off, leaving you all alone again, watching theirs backs as they get further and further away.

Alone again, I see, what now?
