Chapter 2 by Exinator Exinator

What'll it be?

Just give him the coffee

As much as you want to liven up your day, poisoning a well-respected researcher isn't the best way to do it. You navigate through the labyrinthian hallways of the 31st floor, passing doors marked only with huge black numbers you can't know the meanings of. The DICO facility you work at is state of the art. You notice retina scanners, fingerprint & voice recognition, and security card readers fitted to the laboratory doors.

After getting lost only briefly, you find door number 3141, give a rapt knock, and enter after waiting a few seconds. His office is just like all the others; white, immaculate, with a few framed photos of his ugly kids on top of the bookcase lining an entire wall. There's all sorts of books in there, most of which you'd love to borrow and learn something from if you could. You briefly contemplate stealing some of the more interesting genetic experimentation publications, suspecting he wouldn't even notice if you did.

Dr. Henazi doesn't even shift his gaze from the GeniSwap VX report he's studying to acknowledge your placing the steaming cup down on the edge of his desk. Before leaving the room, you sneak a glimpse up at his computer screen for a few seconds, briefly glimpsing part of a formulae and the report's section headings.

1) Sexual organ exchange - attempt #30 - SUCCEEDED

2) Sexual organ enhancement - attempt #25 - SUCCEEDED

2.1) Sexual organ de-enhancement - attempt #2 - FAILED

3) Gender exchange - attempt #7 - PARTIALLY SUCCEEDED

3.1) Gender exchange - attempt #8 - PARTIALLY SUCCEEDED

While navigating your way back to your own much smaller and less pleasant office, you keep the formulae in your mind. You saw about two thirds, and it's likely that given enough time you could reverse engineer the rest.

As soon as you're back in your office you write the formulae down and it plays on your mind all day, your brain subconsciously trying to fill in the gaps. You eventually work out the majority of it, and the only part you don't understand is the amount of the last compound to be added.

You make educated guesses that it could be one of a few different amounts, because it would spoil if too much or little was used. You amuse yourself over lunch thinking about it and you just can't stop thinking about it all day. You wanted something to keep you entertained here, and it looks like you've finally got something!

Before you leave the office for the day, you do a quick check on the company's internal supplies system and you order most of the 7 chemicals in amounts you require to be available tomorrow morning, you enlist a favour from a colleague to smuggle out one of the remaining two, and the internet tells you it's possible to make the last with a couple of over-the-counter items you can buy cheap from a pharmacy.

Conveniently and since one of your key duties at DICO is composition, you have access to a Mix Machine and miscellaneous medical equipment you'll need to administer the . Everything seems to be falling into place! If you gather the courage, you could really do this...

The conundrum of how much of that one chemical to use is the only real hurdle you face.

How much will you use?
