Just as it's starting

(This setting is a composite version of the sonic universe that can include characters from any version of the franchise and every single character on this story is aged up to be an adult)

Everything seemed normal and peaceful in Mobious that day at first. Eggman hadn't been seen in months, so there hadn't really been many threats to fight against. Some of Mobious's heroes actually found that kind of boring, almost hoping Eggman or some other bad guy might come out somewhere so they could go on another adventure. They were about to regret this wish.

It was the middle of the day in Mobotropolis when the sounds of busy mobians roaming the streets quickly fell into a deafening silence as a large shadow began to cover the city, causing them to become alarmed. The shadow belonged to a massive aircraft that nobody saw coming; some were already running away since they knew a big machine floating over their city was usually bad news.
From the huge ships, thousands of drones began to be deployed into the city, and before the mobians could defend themselves or escape, the drones began to deploy some grappling nets to capture the Mobotropolis citizens.

As Mobotropolis was being attacked the Freedom fighters began their counterattack, but considering the massive attack was completly unexpected and so most of them were fighting alone, unorginazed, and without a plan with all the odds stack against them.
