Chapter 18
by
Willow Tindersmith
What did Ernest do while looking at his phone anyway?
Just a little "mischief"
"I wish my headache was gone!"
And just like that, the pain inside Tiffany's head dissolved, turned into a rush of pleasure, and surged throughout her entire body, coming to rest in her groin. Unprepared for the sensation, she let out a loud gasp. Then she realized that she hadn't been the only one; her best friend had a look on her face identical to her own.
"Wow that felt good... does it always feel that good?" Did Jess always look that good? Holy smokes, what did that power do to her? And for that matter, had Ernest always looked that good? Wasn't he just some guy who was good with words and who wrote a nice speech for Jess?
"Wait, it feels good for you too?" Jess and Ernest asked almost in unison.
Jess blushed, "I mean, Ernest's wishes always gave me that kind of feeling, but I didn't see him getting all flushed about it."
"Maybe it only works on girls?" Ernest questioned.
"Well, we have a way of finding out, don't we? I wish I knew what's going on! Ooooohhhh!" Another wave came over Tiffany just as Ernest handed her his phone, his notes app open.
- I wish Tiffany was attracted to both Jessica and me.
- I wish the ring would only come free of Tiffany's finger if/when she decides to give it back to me.
- I wish Tiffany got the same pleasurable rush from making wishes as Jessica does.
- I wish I always remembered the way the world was before a wish Tiffany makes.
- I wish Tiffany was very open about making wishes for fun, especially making mental changes to people.
- I wish Tiffany was intrigued and excited by the idea of her mind being affected by my wishes, especially after reading this.
- I wish Tiffany would never let Jessica know what these wishes are.
"I wished for these to come true," he smirked conspiratorially.
"Show me!" Jess demanded, only for Tiffany to quickly lock the screen and hand the phone back to Ernest, the same smirk now showing on her face as well. "You can't be serious!"
"I wish you didn't care about that!" Tiffany braced herself for the wave of good feelings, only to discover there was nothing this time, "Wait, what?"
"You can't affect her mind, or your own. You can only wish for knowledge for you two," Ernest informed her.
Jess was still furious, "Mistress! I thought you were my best friend! Now it turns out you're no better than Ernest! At least he respected my wishes after he got to know me better, but you? You know damn well I can't stand you keeping secrets from me!"
"I'm sorry Jess," 'but I can't', Tiff wanted to say, but the words wouldn't even come out. I wish Tiffany would never let Jessica know what these wishes were. Why would that even work on her? Wasn't she protected by the ring? She probably had to wear it at the time. Kind of a bummer. Or, well, it was kind of amazing, the power to have your own mind changed by... wait. That was also one of the thoughts put into her mind by those wishes! But it felt so right to think it -- if it weren't for her reading that list of wishes, she would never even have suspected it to be artificial.
Before Tiffany could go any further on this carousel of her own thoughts, Jess interrupted her again, "Well if you're so sorry then go ahead and fix it! Make Ernest show me whatever he showed you!"
'I wish Ernest would show you that list of wishes', was what Tiffany wanted to say. What came out of her was, "I wish Ernest would show you that list of exam questions!", followed by her hand covering her mouth, and another wave of good feelings all through her body. Meanwhile, Ernest did all he could to stop himself from laughing out loud, pulling up the list of possible questions for the Math midterm they had in two weeks. Mrs. Chen had been so kind as to provide them as a study aid.
"Mistress! I'm pretty sure that was NOT what he showed you!"
Ernest couldn't bear to watch Jess struggle any longer. "It's my fault. I wished that she couldn't show you." He couldn't suppress a slight giggle. "The wishes weren't really drastic anyway. Just some fun stuff like her having to deal with those feelings you get as well."
And some other things, Tiffany thought, Like having me out of my mind excited at the prospect of not being able to control myself. Intellectually I know I should hate you for it, but I love it. That's so fucked up and I love how fucked up it is, and that's--
Before Tiffany's thoughts could spiral out of control, the bell rang, signalling that it was time for everyone to get to their classes.
Do they go to their classes or does Tiffany "excuse" them? What's Jess's reaction to all this?
