Just A Little Walk

As the day went along and Peyton and Jace hadn’t returned from looking for her missing bikinis, some more of the guys wanted to go out and see if they could help in the search. Lacey was sitting near Brandon and he stood up saying, “I think I am going to go look for Jace and Peyton. They have been gone for a long time now.”

Lacey couldn’t let that happen so she said, “They’ll be fine. How about you take a walk with me though. If they aren’t back by the time you and I get back, we can go and look for them then.”

“Okay. That sounds fun. Where do you want to go?” Brandon asked.

“Well, there are still places on this island that I haven’t seen yet, so why don’t we go and check the place out.” Lacey said.

“Yeah, it will be nice to know where everything is. Let’s go.” Brandon said as the two of them went walking down the beach.

Lacey made sure to stay away from the woods as much as possible because she knew that Jace and Peyton were probably near the beach but in the woods enough so that they weren’t visible to anyone who walked by. As they walked down the beach, they found some of their friends in the ocean splashing around with each other and having a lot of fun.

“Do you think we should go and join them or should we just enjoy our alone time?” Lacey asked.

“I think if they are still in the water when we get back we can join them, but for right now I am up for something peaceful and what they are doing in the water is much more exerting I want to be a part of right now.” Brandon said and Lacey smiled a bit because Brandon really seemed to want to spend time with her.

“I get that. It is your vacation, so you should do whatever you need to make yourself feel relaxed.” Lacey said.

“I am just glad to be away from home for a while. Dad has put a lot of pressure on me to be good at sports and find a good girlfriend. If that wasn’t enough, he tries to make me keep Madison from getting a boyfriend as well. I am getting kind of fed up with it. Sure, I don’t want Maddie to get with someone that isn’t right for her, but I am not anywhere as bad as dad is. I would be willing to let her have any of the other guys here because I trust them, but then I will catch hell when I get home because I let Maddie get with a guy.” Brandon said.

“You should do what you want in that regard. If you want, I can try and get Madison with one of the guys who are here. You know I love match making.” Lacey said with a grin.

“I might take you up on that. So, how have things been going for you so far on this trip?” Brandon asked.

“Everything has been great. I even have a few couples in the works already.” Lacey said.

“Oh yeah? Do you mind telling me who?” Brandon asked.

“I can’t do that. I like it to be a secret until they are really together so that nothing can get in their way.” Lacey said and Brandon shrugged.

“It was worth a try.” Brandon said.

“What about you? Do you have your mind on anyone?” Lacey asked.

“I might have a few people in mind.” Brandon said with a smirk.

“Tell me who and I will have you together by the end of the week.” Lacey said.

“Nope. I can do my own work in that situation.” Brandon said, smiling at the cute look on Lacey’s face as she pouted at him.

Brandon didn’t want to tell Lacey because Lacey was one of the girls, along with JoJo, who he was interested in. It wasn’t that he was afraid to tell her, he just wanted to make sure they were compatible before he did anything about it and this walk together would definitely let him know what was going on in that regard.

“I’ll make you a deal. If I am not with someone when three days are left on this trip, I will talk to you about it and see what you can plan.” Brandon said.

“You better.” Lacey said as she finally smiled back at Brandon.

“So, anyone you are interested in here, on this trip?” Brandon asked Lacey.

“There is a possibility.” Lacey said.

“Mind telling me?” Brandon asked.

“Oh, so you think you can get me to talk when you wouldn’t even talk to me about who you are interested in? Nope. It doesn’t work like that.” Lacey said, wagging her finger at him in the “no, no, no” motion from side to side and Brandon couldn’t help but laugh.

“I had to try.” Brandon said.

“I will tell you this. There is a lot of dating potential here. I am not saying that I am interested in every guy here, we do happen to have a good group of friends, so there are a lot of possibilities here.” Lacey said.

“Well, I don’t think there is any need to worry about Patrick. He seems to be following Ashley around a lot.” Brandon said and Lacey smiled widely at that.

“Let me guess, they are one of your couples that you are working on?” Brandon asked.

“Because you guessed that, I will let you in on my plans for Patrick. He is definitely showing a liking to Ashley, but Dana is also into him, so when Ashley and I were talking about our other plan, she said that she was going to distract Patrick for the day, which worked out perfectly for my plan and she was going to bring Dana in to help.” Lacey said.

“So, you are trying to get Patrick with two girls?” Brandon asked.

“Nope. Three.” Lacey said while laughing at the look on Brandon’s face.

“Who would be the third?” Brandon asked, still in shock.

“Skylar. I can see her getting annoyed that Patrick isn’t spending as much time with her as he normally does. She would never admit it to anyone else, but I think she has more feelings for Patrick than she lets on.” Lacey said.

“I can see that. They already look like a couple when they are together anyway. They just both deny that they are together, when they practically already are.” Brandon said.

“I know. I think everyone sees it but the two of them.” Lacey said.

“You know, I can actually see that plan working. Ashley and Dana will be no problem for you and once Skylar sees what is happening, she will most likely be just as easy. I won’t say she would be jealous, but she would definitely be annoyed that someone took her best friend from her and her favorite booty call.” Brandon said.

“You think that Patrick is her favorite?” Lacey asked.

“I don’t know this for sure, but I definitely see them having sex together more often than I see her having sex with any other guy. There might be other guys, but she always comes back to Patrick.” Brandon said.

“You know, I think you are right. I never really paid that much attention to it before, but now that you brought it up, I know that you are right.” Lacey said.

“Anyway, now that I know about this group that you are trying to get together, why don’t you tell me about the other one?” Brandon asked.

“Good try, but no. I will tell you if you guess, but otherwise, no.” Lacey said.

Brandon shrugged as the two of them continued to walk along the beach. They just walked in silence for a little while. It wasn’t awkward or anything like that. It was just peaceful and that was what both of them wanted out of this walk together.

“So, are you looking forward to college next year?” Lacey asked.

“Yeah, I am just going to have to figure out how to study and have football practice at the same time.” Brandon said.

“You’ll be fine. A lot of other people are doing this too and they seemed to have found a way to do both. I believe in you.” Lacey said.

“Thanks. How about you?” Brandon asked.

“I am really looking forward to the freedom that college gives you. Not that I plan on doing much differently than I do now, but it will be nice not having to let mom and dad know where I am going every time I go out.” Lacey said.

“That's true. I think Maddie will thrive in that situation. Get her away from dad and all of his bullshit and she will be her best self.” Brandon said.

“I will be happy for her once that happens. She deserves some freedom.” Lacey said.

“Yeah, she does. So, are you planning on staying in the dorms or are you going to rent a house or an apartment?” Brandon asked.

“Well, Mom and dad are talking about going in with a bunch of the other parents to rent a house for a bunch of us. I am sure that it has been talked about with your parents as well.” Lacey said.

“I have heard some things about it, but I didn’t know if it was just an idea or whether they were really going to go through with it.” Brandon said.

“I think it is definitely in the works. Other than that, I am not really sure.” Lacey said.

“Well, that will be fun.” Brandon said and Lacey nodded as the two of them were now making back to the steps as they had now made their way around the whole small island.

They saw that none of their friends were still in the ocean, so they walked up to the pool deck and saw that everyone was sitting there, including Jace and Peyton. Peyton didn’t look pissed anymore, but it didn’t look like she found her bikinis either.

“Well, it looks like we don’t have to go out looking for them now.” Lacey said.

“Yep. At least Peyton doesn’t look like she is still pissed.” Brandon said and Lacey nodded as they made their way over to their friends and joined in on the conversation.
