Does he calm down?
Just A Bit More Crazy
Except it turned out to be far from normal.
Taylor got down the stairs and made his way to the dining room and sat down at the table. He waited for his mother to place the final dish down while noticing that his father was still not home. Not surprising since it happened all too often. His work was a little demanding.
No doubt mom has some food set aside for him later, Taylor thought.
Taylor's mother was roughly taller than him but not by much. Her hair was a dark brown that fell to her shoulders in waves. Her figure was motherly, but mostly youthful as she had married relatively young. Her chest was a modest size at a large B-cup that fit her frame quite well. The hips were what probably got Taylors father's interest, no doubt. Her face was cute going on mature. She hadn't yet gotten any wrinkles around the eyes yet seeing as she was a youthful mother.
She regularly worked out a few times a week with her friends, so she wasn't too soft around the edges. Taylor wouldn't say that she was the strong type though. Just in shape. Which his father was probably happy about.
His mother finally sat down after removing her pair of pink oven mittens, dumping them on the kitchen counter.
"Right," Taylor's mother breathed out in relief, not having sat down in half an hour. "Your father's going to be home late again tonight, so don't worry about waiting up for him. I've got some food ready for him, so eat up."
Taylor looked up, about to reply, when he noticed something that shouldn't be there. He sat there for a moment, not saying anything. Just staring at the space above his mother's head.
Seeing that her son's gaze wasn't on her she assumed he was looking at something past her. So, she turned to look at the wall behind her and saw only the kitchen counter and the clock on an otherwise bare wall.
"What's wrong, honey?" She asked as she turned back.
Her question cut into his surprise and he shook himself. He tried to think of something to say and lamely said, "I-I was just looking at the time. Just wondering how late he'd be."
"Oh, well he mentioned that it'd probably be around nine when he got home." She informed him. "Why? Did you need him for something?"
"Err, no not really. It's not that important." Taylor said, trying to end the subject.
"Alright." His mother said, not fully convinced.
After that exchange they dug into the food. His mother looked to be mentally criticising her cooking while Taylor was reeling from what he had seen above his mother's head. There was a circular blue dot floating there. The same see-through blue as the rest of the weird mind fuckery that he had been experiencing this evening.
With nervous hesitation he surreptitiously reached up to press the dot while making it look like he was scratching his head. He froze when the see-through window opened up, but this time it was on the right side of his vision. He looked to his left to see that the window from before was still minimized.
The new window had the words "Character Editor" as its title.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Hold on, hold on, hold your horses. Wait a second, wait a minute, hold the phone. Fuck a duck. Shit in a bucket. Flip a table. What the hell? What the hell? What the hell?! Taylor screamed inside his head. He had turned back to his food but was staring blankly as he mechanically ate while his mind was in turmoil. This is insane. This insane. I've gone insane! Everything's gone insane. You've gone insane, and you've gone insane, and you get a car, and you get a car...
Throughout his mental tirade his mother occasionally gave him odd looks for his weirdly mechanical movements as he ate.
Okay, okay, okay. Don't think right now. Don't think. Just eat. Just eat and try not to throw up. Hurry up and get back to your room. Then you can think, Taylor.
For the next twenty minutes an odd silence covered the dining room. A silence that Taylor's mother tried a few times to penetrate with conversation but every time was met with one-word answers. Finally, Taylor managed to finish his dinner without chucking it back up. He tried to seem unhurried as he politely excused himself after placing his dishes into the dishwasher.
His mother just watched on, looking perplexed as he left.
Once back in his room he collapsed onto his bed, grabbed his pillow, and did something he never thought he'd ever do.
He screamed silently into the pillow.
He just laid there trying not to hyperventilate. He gave calming breaths and tried his best to slow down his thoughts. While he was doing that he noticed that he couldn't see the windows in his vision. He let go of the pillow and opened his eyes. There they were again. He closed his eyes. Darkness. Open. Floating blue boxes.
I guess that's somewhat comforting. I can sleep without having to see those things.
Now that he was calm, or as calm as he'll ever be tonight, he looked again at the window that popped open when he pressed that blue dot.
Editor... It said editor instead of creator. Looking at the page that it was on, Personality for some reason, he saw his mother's biography. All her thoughts and feelings on a huge range of subjects. What gave him pause here was the blank space at the top that implied something alarming. He could edit her personality...
He tried switching to other tabs out of morbid curiosity. The first tab, the one that was named "Create a Character" on the other window, instead said "Character Details."
What appeared was a list of all the physical traits that his mother had with no option to change anything. Which was the biggest relief to him. He had no idea how he would react if he could actually change her appearance. At least something was making some kind of sense on this nonsensical night.
He read through her details just to be sure though. Female, of course. Five feet seven inches tall, alright. Fifty-Eight Kg. Dark brown hair. Blue eyes. On the big side of a B-cup. Yada, yada, yada. And no option to change anything.
Taylor sighed in relief.
The Clothing tab was completely unclickable. So was the "Props" tab that he didn't bother with before.
Personality was open like he saw a few seconds ago. He spied a button near the side of the page that looked like a hexagon. He pressed it and the page changed to something that had him raising his eyebrows in surprise. It looked remarkably like the social statistics chart that the recent Persona game had in its menu. But this one had six qualities instead of the five from the game. There was charm, kindness, courage, proficiency, knowledge and strength.
Looking at these stats he could see that his mom excelled at kindness and charm, while strength and courage were her lowest. That... was actually really interesting.
Moving on. The tab that he didn't take a look at before, the "Skills and Talents" tab was available. He clicked on it and saw two lists of things that his mother was capable of performing. A backflip was one of them. That one appeared on the talents list on the left. He also saw cooking on the skills list on the right. Oddly, some of the skills and talents were greyed out for some reason, like the backflip one. Some even existed on both lists, whatever that meant.
Anyway, it also seemed like he could add to this list if he wanted to. He quickly moved on before his head could spin..
Saved Presets was unclickable so he clicked on Confirmation to see the same question from before. "Apply changes?" With the two options of "Yes" or "Reset." Of course, he hadn't made any changes and there wasn't anything to reset so he left it alone.
Now that he knew that the only things he could affect was her mind, which didn't really comfort him that much, he now wanted to get rid of this window. Whether that was by minimizing it or closing it, whatever. He looked around for a way to do that manually and found out, entirely by accident, that he could drag the window around in his vision. Which he guessed was pretty neat. It didn't serve his purposes though.
It was when he held his finger on the window for a couple seconds trying to figure out what to do when a new window appeared in the middle of his vision. It said two things. Minimize, or Close. Yes!
He clicked on the Close option and the window disappeared from view.
Okay, I think I'm getting it now.
Now that he figured out that he could affect people's minds, he moved on to trying to figure out what to do with Lucy. Or rather, what to do with the impossible ability to create people like Lucy.
He clicked on the small minimized window on the left and it opened up into the Character Creator UI. It opened up on the Create a Character page first this time.
But something was odd. The options for Male or Female were blank. Looking at the box with Lucy's name on it to the bottom right of his vision, Taylor saw that it was still present. So, why did the details on the Create page seem a bit off?
He pressed the Female option and frowned when the ordinary looking girl from earlier popped into existence beside his bed. What happened to Lucy?
Taylor unticked the female option and pressed it again only to see the regular girl disappear and reappear again.
"Okay... I must'a done something wrong here." He mumbled.
Instead of clicking on the Creator window again, he clicked on Lucy's name box. It turned into the box with the media controls. Taylor then pressed the popping icon and Lucy appeared, still looking mildly upset, next to the bland girl.
"Whaaaaaaaat...?" Taylor said, dragging the question out in his confusion. Does this... does this mean I can make more than one character?
He tried pressing the Female option again on the UI. The bland girl disappeared, leaving Lucy standing there looking miffed. He clicked the Female option again and she came back.
Just as a test to see if he could, he clicked on the Confirmation tab and pressed Yes. A second later a new name box appeared next to Lucy's. It said Jane D.
Seriously? Jane Doe. That's kinda funny. He thought. It applied the name given to people who turned up at hospitals without identification.
But this confirmed that he could indeed make more than one person. Which made him feel surprisingly excited. Unreasonably excited even. But the freak-out that he was experiencing hadn't really left him. Right now, he was sitting up examining the two girls before him, with his hands clasped to try and stop them from shaking.
It really didn't make any sense.
He was looking at Jane's name and clicked the box it was in. The media controls for her appeared right next to Lucy's and the wrench icon caught his eye. He pressed it and jumped a little when the Creator UI shifted to appear right next to Jane's body. It seemed to stay next to her even when Taylor looked from her to Lucy and back again.
Is that how it works? He wondered. I have to press their specific edit buttons to change them?
Now that the UI was fixed to Jane he started looking through her bland details. Her personality page was completely empty. Taylor had no idea what that would do if he left it like that when he pressed the play button. Maybe she would just be a mute little robot? Who knows.
But for now, he made her disappear with the popping balloon button. The UI went back to its original position to the top left of Taylors eyesight.
Now angry Lucy stood alone beside Taylors bed.
There was one other thing that Taylor wanted to look at. That other icon on the media controls, the one that looked like a rewind button. What did that one do?
He pressed it and watched as the media controls box expanded to include what looked like a volume or music line, or whatever those things were called. It was green instead of blue and it had an icon that looked to be at the end of the line. Taylor imagined that he could drag that little icon for whatever purpose. He did doubt that it had to do with volume though.
The was a small button to the left of the green line that had two words inside it. "Complete Rewind." Was this like the rewind on a remote control? Can I actually rewind them? How does that even make sense?
He really didn't know what to make of it.
He went ahead and clicked somewhere along the green line and watched what happened. Immediately Lucy's expression and posture changed from angry to happy and blushing.
Ohhhhh. I get it now. He thought, mouthing the ohhhh in reality as well. That's kinda cool.
Having figured out what this function did he went ahead and pressed the Complete Rewind button. Lucy went from blushing to staring at the wall again, the blush no longer present. She was now as she was when he first made her.
Now that Taylor was coming to terms with this strange impossible ability, he had to admit that the potential of all this was pretty exciting. A gorgeous and busty girl was standing in his room completely at his mercy. He could change anything he wanted about her, and she would love him.
Taylor liked to think that he wasn't too **** for love but he really did have to admit that not having a girlfriend, or even close female friends for that matter, was quite lonely. So, it really should come as no surprise that he decided to make a number of girls using this Character Creation thingy and surround himself with love and affection. Even in his own mind that sounded sad, but he ignored that part of his mind.
What he focused on right now though, was the very cute Lucy Heartfilia standing in front of him passively. Taylor stood up and stepped in front of her. Seeing her like this reminded him of all the Time Stop porn that he had watched over the years. Several ideas were popping up in his head right now.
The excitement of all the things he could do came to the forefront of his brain. His pants grew uncomfortable as he reached out a hand to her chest.
What does he do to her?
