Chapter 87. Part III

I don’t quite understand why we’re sitting here. Daddy seems so sad somehow, though he appears to be doing better since he comforted me. Mommy and Auntie seem okay, too. I’m sitting on the floor next to our Puppy, stroking her head with one hand while my other arm clings to Daddy’s leg. On the TV in front of us, I see the Amblin Entertainment logo and remember that back when I was big and mean, I knew what that meant. Now, I’d rather focus on the pretty colors and…

"Hmmm…" I cling a little tighter to Daddy’s leg as the music starts. "I don’t like this," I whine, looking up at Daddy. I wasn’t interested in movies even back then, but seeing the grim faces of the workers in the night makes me scared.

"It’s okay," Mommy says, patting my cheek. She looks at her husband, then back at me. "We’re doing this for Daddy."

"Okay," I murmur as the big, heavy crate is pushed onto the concrete… thingie. I love my Daddy, and I know today is a special day for him, and…

"Mommy…" I jump in fright when the nasty thing inside the crate growls and screeches in a way that makes my blood run cold.

"I used to think it was the T-Rex they had in there,” I hear Daddy say, his voice filled with something like awe. Then I feel his hand on my back, and I calm down.

“It’s not the T-Rex?” Auntie Rose asks, and to my surprise, Mommy shakes her head.

“The Rex is big, sure,” she explains, but I don’t understand. “This is…”

“Something better,” Daddy grins. Auntie Rose doesn’t get it either.

“So not the little things? Those nasty little… what do you call them…”

“It’s okay,” Daddy grins, looking happy. I turn away from the TV and stare up at Daddy. His eyes are glistening in the light from the screen. Auntie snuggles up to his side and reaches into the big bowl of popcorn on his lap, while Mommy sits in the armchair… and looks at me. She’s smiling at me when I hear something about Jophery—that he’s supposed to open a gate…

And then I scream so loud that Auntie Rose is startled and coughs up her popcorn.

“What’s happening?” I shriek as something shoves the cage aside and… “Jophery! Look out!” The sounds are horrible. The screeching and snarling, and the man’s screams.

And then I see the eye. Yellow. Almost like a snake’s. With black lines in it. Inhuman. I throw my hands over my eyes as the cowboy screams for them to shoot him. 'Shoot him!'

“Shh,” I hear Mommy whisper close to my ear. Then I feel her body over mine. Puppy presses against my side, and I feel both of them trying to calm me down as hot breath touches the palms of my hands. "It’ll be over soon," I hear Mommy say, and I feel Puppy nuzzling my tummy.

"It’s okay, Princess." But it’s Daddy, and my world goes pleasantly dark as he hugs me and gathers me into his arms. I know Jophery is dead now. Eaten by the T-Rex or that other thing Daddy mentioned. And I’m scared. Scared that Daddy might let go of me.

But I’m angry, too. At myself. For being so scared. This was supposed to be Daddy’s day, but...

"Come here, little pumpkin," I hear Mommy say, and I feel her arms slip under my armpits. "I’ll put you to bed." But I shake my head. It’s quiet on the TV now, and as Daddy gently strokes me, I open my eyes.

"I don’t want to," I sniffle. "I’m sorry, Daddy." But he just smiles at me.

"I was scared back then, too," he admits, though I can’t imagine Daddy being afraid of anything.

"It is rated 12 and up, after all," grins Auntie Rose, wiping popcorn off her shirt with a mischievous look. "Way too scary for a little girl like you." She playfully sticks out her tongue at me.

"I’m not too young for it!" I cry out indignantly. Mostly at myself, because I’m still scared that a mean dino might come out of the lake—the one the man on the raft crosses. "I just want to be with Daddy! Because today is an important day."

I feel so small and helpless. Everyone is watching the movie, but I’m the one who has to ruin the evening. I feel my cheeks getting wet, but then Daddy is there. He lifts me up, and Auntie Rose makes room without a murmur as he pulls me onto his lap. Immediately, I snuggle against him, pressing my back to his chest as he wraps his arms around me.

“It’s okay,” Daddy decides. “Little Tammy can stay here if she wants.” Then I feel his lips against my ear.

And his hand moves down over my shirt, right between my breasts.

“I think I know a way to distract you during the scary scenes.”

“Ham… hah…” I moan softly as his fingers lift my shirt. I feel the cold air on my tummy and can't decide if I get goosebumbs because of that... or Daddy's big, warm hand moving down over my tummy towards...

“Oh,” he smiles. “No panties?” I don’t answer. I just close my eyes as I feel his fingers gently massaging and stroking my love bottom. With soft motions, carefully and warm, me makes my wholy boddy shiver and relax. A tense calm settles over me, and my body goes limp and pliable. When Daddy slides his hand under my shirt, pulling it up a bit to massage my little tit, I know no dinosaur can get to me. “See?” he says to Jasmine. “A 12+ age rating is no problem for our princess.”

“Fine,” I hear Auntie Rose say through the haze of pleasure—perhaps a bit jealously, though Auntie is very good at playing that up to tease Daddy. “But that means I get dibs on the popcorn. And your cock later.”

“Sister!” Jasmine calls out from her seat, though she can’t move because Puppy has settled onto her lap and curled up. “Our desires aren't what matter today.” Auntie Rose slowly moves her hand down, between Daddy’s legs, and begins to move it.

“Not our desire, Sister. But our man here, he’s got…”

“That scene right there is really cool!” Daddy says suddenly, pointing at the movie box. Auntie Rose pulls her hand back, briefly sniffs it with her eyes closed, then looks at the screen.

“Why is that?” she asks, and we watch as the man steps off the raft and suddenly falls down. Hearing the delight in Daddy’s voice, I don’t even mind that he’s stopped stroking my breast. I listen as he explains that the man actually fell by accident but was cool enough to keep acting.

“A shame,” Mommy says. “Considering what happens to him.”

“Hey!” Auntie Rose laughs. “No spoilers.” As the men in the cave gather around that strange glowing stone, I wonder what spoilers actually are.

'Dr. Grant, Dr. Sattler, we’re ready to try again.'

I am so proud of us all. Of Tammy, for being so brave. And of Rose, for being so helpful. She asks exactly the right questions, gets involved, and shows an interest in her husband’s world—something every woman is born with but most of us lose over time. Until recently, I was one of those women. But now…

I look over at my husband. The love of my life. He looks at me. He grins. Then we count down together—without words, sharing only the bond of two people who love and support each other.

“I hate computers!” we say in unison. Then we laugh. Heartily. Happily. Rose just watches us while Finn turns to her. “Now that is a real man,” he says, laughing cheerfully. And he’s right. The glasses, the hat, and that masculine touch of grumpiness in his voice.

“Is that the guy?” Rose asks, and I have to smile. The first half of her sentence sounds snippish—teasing. The second half shifts into something warm and caring once she grasps our reaction. We are two very different women. In many ways. Not least of all tonight. I know Jurassic Park. Rose doesn’t. And Finn loves it. But we’re alike, too. Alike enough to share this man without a murmur of complaint. I help Finn navigate his grief, while Rose supports him with genuine, warm interest.

Only Tammy and Mom don’t understand what’s going on, but that’s okay. My tongue presses against the roof of my mouth as I watch Hubby’s hand move beneath Tammy’s shirt and feel my mother’s body heat against my lap.

We’re all happy.

Hubby, too.

But Hubby is practically ecstatic.

“What an introduction for a character, right?” he asks admiringly, not expecting an answer. While his eyes stay glued to the screen, Rose and I exchange a look. Triumph in our eyes. “Spielberg is such a genius. You see right away that Grant doesn’t like technology, that he’s grumpy and…” The chubby kid is causing trouble again. “And doesn’t like kids.”

"How mean," Tammy grumbles when the fat kid calls my husband’s favorite dinosaurs 'six-foot turkeys.' "Kids are great, after all."

"You might think so," says Rose, and I’m proud of my sister. "But him?" Then she laughs as Dr. Grant shows her, the boy, and the audience that he hates not just computers, but kids too.

"They hunt like wolves," Finn explains while Dr. Grant slices open the belly for the boy.

And then comes a scene I used to be indifferent to, but which means the world to me now.

'I mean, what’s so wrong with kids?'

Finn doesn’t notice. He’s watching the movie with a smile. But Rose notices. She sees the look I shoot my husband.

"Yeah, Finn?" Rose asks her brother. "What’s wrong with kids?" Finn just points at the TV.

"Well, I don’t stink!" says Tammy, making us laugh. The popcorn tastes delicious, and I stuff more into my mouth while clearly seeing the longing for children in my big sister’s eyes.

What a weird family we are, I think with a tiny grin while watching my big sis twitching and rubbing her backside against the couch next to her hubby. It all revolves around this man—with Mom literally playing the role of a pet dog in her lap—yet Jasmine is the most feral of us all. But then my eyes dart to Finn, and I have to admit the idea has its appeal. Maybe he’s thinking about it too. A warm sense of anticipation fills my belly, knowing that all of this—the family, the growing harem, everyone focused on him yet all so, so happy—is just the beginning. Mom follows our lead. The most mature of the Lynchwood women has the best feel for the situation, and as Finn cups Tammy’s cheeks and her head lifts, we all get lost in him.

“He doesn’t understand that his girlfriend is waiting for him,” he tells Tammy, and I wonder if he realizes he isn’t just talking about the movie on the TV. “She wants a family with him, but he’s only at the start of his journey and doesn’t yet realize what he has in her.” My lips press together, and I look back at Jasmine, who is squeezing her legs shut and doing her best to put him before herself.

But Finn is looking at her, too.

“It’s only the beginning of the movie.”

“And we’re going to watch it all the way to the end,” Jasmine says with that patient, loving manner I haven’t mastered yet. I admire her for it. But before I can tell her so, the helicopter makes a commotion, and everyone rushes around to protect bones—which have lain in the ground for thousands of years—from the sand.

“I like him,” I say a minute later, watching John Hammond help himself to the kitchen of that unreal archaeologist couple. “He’s funny.”

“Well, in the books, it’s a bit different,” Finn says, laughing as Hammond takes Grant’s finger in greeting, only to blow dust off his own palm afterward. “But here, I think Spielberg made the perfect decision. I mean, what would the movie be if he would be portrayed as the man in the books? More capitalist than good-natured grandfather. To be honest, I think Spielberg was better in portraying the characters for a grand audience than Creighton was in the books. But that's just my thinking."

'Dodgson! Dodgson! We’ve got Dodgson here!'

I flinch slightly when the fat man starts shouting so loudly, but Beta Owner caresses my back, and I melt into her lap again. It feels so good to be loved. To be in a loving family.

The clothes don’t feel so good. Alien. Scratchy. I’d rather be naked or in the gear my owners bought for me. But Beta Owner told Daughter Owner I shouldn't be naked today. Does that mean no sex for Puppy Michelle? I look around the room with wide eyes. Owner sits with Daughter Owner on his lap in front of the device that creates pictures. Daughter Owner has sex, I see. And smell. She smells good. Like cum and a bit sweaty. Daughter Owner's sweat smells sweet and good. But no sex for Puppy Michelle.

I can see how happy my pack is. Daughter Owner and Beta Owner giggle happily while Owner laughs too. Such a sweet voice. I wack my behind hearing all the happy noises and smile happily while my pack laughs about this crazy spray-thingie in Dodgson’s hand. Daughter Owner, my former favorite, is so happy in Owner's lap. I smile and stretch my body. Beta Owner is right there, caring for me, petting my head and rubbing my back.

I feel content here. At the lowest point in the family. Just an animal that needs care and provides love and adoration. It's so simple. And so complex at the same time. A few days ago, Rose took my job away from me. Owner doesn’t know but Sister Owner is now in control of my former life. My company and the money I made. She hasn't told him yet, I sense, but for me, everything has changed.

I'm nothing but an animal and I see it as the best thing that could happen to me.

In the movie box, this funny rockstar-man in the loud blue and silver flying machine laughs in this funny voice. And Owner laughs and says how the dynamic is so important between this Malcom Guy and the Grant Guy he likes so much.

"A rivalry for the ages." Owner smiles, while Daughter Owner looks puzzled.

"Look how he smiles at her," Beta Owner explains calmly. Sister Owner strokes his hand as she explains the situation to the woman sitting on Owner’s lap.

"Dr. Grant is jealous because the rockstar is making a move on his girl." Sister Owner gives Owner a devilish smile. The two of them have always had that chemistry, and seeing it blossom like this leaves me happily panting. A thin thread of saliva hangs from my tongue as I look around at my family. I’m so happy. "I can understand him," Sister Owner teases.

"So you can?" Owner’s eyes gleam with pure joy as he strokes Daughter Owner’s head. Beta Owner does the same to me. "So you’d run off with a rockstar too, if you had the chance?"

"Fuck off, loser," Rose laughs. Then she looks him in the eye. "You’re my rockstar. My own Ian Malkovitch."

"Ian Malcolm," he groans. "You little bitch. You’re doing that on purpose."

"Maybe," she teases. "If it gets me the kind of action my little niece is getting right now, then..."

"Rose," Beta Owner says quietly but urgently, pointing at the box showing moving images. "That is the part."

"Oh yes!" Sister Owner shouts and sits up straight, startling me a little. The soft, warm hands on my naked back calm me down again. Rose is part of my pack now. "Finn, let me..." She stands up and moves over to him, settling in right beside him and snuggling close.

"What’s Auntie doing?" Tammy asks, but Rose holds a finger to her lips while Finn — Owner, I correct myself, though it’s hard not to see him as just a lovely young man right now—fixes his gaze on the box. “Auntie wants to be really close to her bestie for this part,” Rose explains to her little sister. Then she glances briefly over at Jasmine and me, nodding gratefully to her older sister.
