Junior Coach

"It was because you wanted me to be your junior coach. You thought that I would be more useful off the field then on it." Remembrance flooded his eyes.

"That's right! So what do you say? Would you be Junior Coach? I could really use the help making sure these guys stay civil to one another."

"Well, I believe so," you say with a smile. Coach smiles as well, his moustache accentuating his shiny teeth.

"Well that's great to hear! We should celebrate!" He pulls out a six pack of beers and hands you one.

"I'm not 21 yet sir." You say

"I wont tell if you don't." He smiles, popping you open one and handing it to you. You spend the next couple hours going over plans for the team.

"Can I just say, it's so nice to have someone like you to talk things through," Coach pats you on the back, "Sometimes I make these plays and never know if they make any sense."

"You do a great job you know." You take a sip of the beer, "You know just what to say to motivate the team."

"Thank you." Coach Johnson was blushing as he took a long swig. "Hey how do you feel about a swim?"

"Isn't the pool normally closed after practice." you respond confused.

"Yeah, but Coach Nickels keeps it open for me. I normally feel really dirty after practice, sweating so much, so I go for a swim. You are welcome join me. Consider it Junior Coach privileges."
