June: Lock June in a closet and let Larry find her

It is time, you think, for June to contemplate the folly of her actions. You also want to give Larry the shock of finding her like this.

Leaving lamppost and wine bottle where they are, you tie June's ankles, push her into a closet, then shut and lock the door. You move a heavy old chair in front of the door, as you don't want June getting out too early.

Then you go back upstairs, where Larry is still looking for June.

Larry is in the library, the last place he saw June. "June," he says. "June, where are you?" He's getting concerned, as he hasn't seen or heard from June in over an hour.

You wait until he's looking away, then you drop June's jacket on the floor. It doesn't take him long to find it. He picks it up, squints at it. "What the hell?"

You make a knocking noise from the direction of the door to the basement. Larry turns that way. "June," he says again. "Are you down there? Are you hurt?"

You drop June's shirt on the floor, near the door to the basement. Larry picks it up. "Something's wrong," he says. "June, if you can hear me, hold tight. I'm coming for you." He pauses at the basement door, listening, looking. After several minutes, he pulls out a flashlight and goes down.

At the bottom of the stairs, he looks around. The basement is large and dark and cluttered. He sweeps the flashlight back and forth, but doesn't see June. However, he spots the closet door, the heavy chair blocking it.

He walks over to the chair. He is still holding his camera. He puts it down while he moves the chair. Then he picks it up. He starts filming again while he unlocks the closet door.

"Ohmigod," he says when he sees June, naked, bruised and battered, hands tied behind her back, legs tied together, gagged, a lamppost and a winebottle up her, crying and screaming in fear, pain and alarm.

He is filming, you think in savage delight. Kevin in the van will have seen it by now.
