Chapter 46 by Drakavius Drakavius

Who do we follow as the hotel falls to the Idol?

Jonas, a Guest Stuck at The Property Edge

Jonas hung from the shoulders of his suit jacket somewhat relieved.

He had managed to dodge the dance floor orgy, scoot around the main exit entanglement, turn before the wall of fire, and fall out a fire exit before it disappeared behind a wall of marble.

Of course his escape had come at a price, but he was sure surviving was worth it.

Having bolted across the parking lots and towards the stretch of grass that the driveway wound up to the road he paused in the shadow of a tree to let a large hulking horned shadow pass, bolting when he thought it was clear to get away.

He wasn't the only one. Although he had the fortune of not being pounced by those wolf like shadows as he neared the road.

With a distant bellow the ground began to shake beneath him, pausing for only a moment allowed the spearhead tipped wrought iron fence to miss impaling him as it shot up from the ground like a spike trap in a video game.

He had to count his blessings, it was what little he could do as they emerged so close they actually impaled through his suit jacket. Which miraculously in itself hung him, dangling ten feet off the ground from the gothic looking fence. Struggling to rip free so he could find his way around.

The screams behind him had died down, replaced by moans and cries of pleasure, not to mention other animalistic noises that soothed, aroused, and disturbed him.

Trying to pry himself away from the bars with his dangling limbs Jonas grinned and quietly cheered as he started to hear the rip of his jacket spreading.

“Come on. Come on. Come on.” He encouraged, never before finding himself so eager to rip a piece of clothing, never mind fall to the ground.

With a metallic groan the fence seemed to shake as Jonas began to feel himself start to drop lower with the spreading rip.

“What the…” Jonas began to question, looking up and down the fence to note its straight spear like posts as he felt his armpits become hooked and hang him in place of the now torn jacket.

Jonas' struggles became more panicked and fearful as he felt the metal bend up across his back and over his opposing shoulders, holding him securely in place as Jonas was **** to come to terms with the nightmare he had dismissed so far from thought as his escape seemed to be working so smoothly.

He looked as best he could either way, unable to see anything moving along either side of the fence, he listened carefully, struggling to hear beyond his laboured panicked breaths, questioning just how far away some of those moans were coming from.

Trying to rattle the fence Jonas debated the risks of screaming out for help. Maybe they would be like vampires and just disappear come daylight. Could he wait that long?

He rattled the fence struggling. His initial attempts at keeping quiet eroding with desperation as the sparse traffic grew thinner as the night went on and he remained hanging there, seemingly forgotten by whatever it was that had claimed the ever quieter party goers.

The quiet night grew extra still at one point as Jonas fought off sobs of desperation. He had been there at least an hour, likely more. He had no grasp of time hanging there immobilized. Come day light there would be no missing him. The suburban traffic passing by would be his salvation. He just had to hold it together, or so he thought and tried to tell himself.

Bouncing between frustration, fear, and anger Jonas lost track of time. It seemed to drag on slowly as cars passed smoothly and ever more sparsely not too far off. He tried struggling for his cellphone. Likely dropped in the chaos as he couldn't reach it if it wasn't.

He tried looking for anyone else who might help. Not a single visible silhouette beyond the fence, at least not anywhere he could see along it.

Relegating to depressed thoughts Jonas suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. What otherwise would have been innocent humming summoned his mind back to one of his selfish acts earlier in the night.

What Was The Selfish Act?
