Chapter 2 by Callmebyblondie Callmebyblondie

Which story will you pick?

John Moves In (Main Thread)

"I still can't believe we're moving to nowheresville!" John Newman said. They've had this conversation many times before. Eve Newman, John's mother, received an offer to take over as principal of Solomon Hills High, and if she did so, she'd get paid double her normal salary. It would frankly be stupid to not take the offer.

John wasn't happy about any of this. He had to say goodbye to all his friends and move to a place hours away. But no matter how much he tried, he couldn't convince his mom to let them stay.

Unbeknownst to her son, Eve Newman had her own reasons for moving. Sure, the money was great, but she had a special someone she was dying to meet up with.

As the car pulled up in the suburban neighborhood they were living in, Eve and John were greeted by a father and daughter duo.

The father, Tom Thompson, pulled in Eve for a long hug. John just kind of stared awkwardly. "Is this how affectionate everyone is?" He thought to himself.

"Welcome to Solomon Hills! I'm Tom Thompson! I'm the head of tourism! This is my darling daughter, Teri! She's taking after her old man, and when I heard you had a son who was a senior? I knew she'd be the one to show him around town! As for you..."

Eve interrupted. "Oh, I know my way around here. I didn't take the job without having my own tour. And besides, I have to get to work!"

John raised an eyebrow. "Go to work? You just got here!"

Solomon Hills High. Her first day as the lady in charge. Eve knew she had to make a good impression so the faculty didn't walk all over her, so she set up a meet and greet.

Some people weren't happy with being made to come in on their day off. As she shook hands with one of the Coaches, she knew she was in for a hard year.

"Calvin Correre. Volleyball Coach. I'm personally welcoming you to Solomon Hills High." Calvin's grip was rock solid as he shook his new boss's hand. "Hope you don't lose it like the last principal!" With a haughty laugh, Calvin left the auditorium.

"Oh, don't mind Cal, he's just mad when anyone tells him what to do." One of the teachers, Jenna Oda, said. "I think it's good we have a serious leader steering this ship along. I know I'm not supposed to talk about people when they aren't here, but the last principal was really bad..."

Eve didn't respond, but did look at Jenna with a smile. She had a feeling she made a new friend.

John sat in the Thompson residence, where he learned a few things.

Teri, and her best friends Cindy and Elaine were all in the same classes as him. Teri's mother Tammy worked for the mayor. Nice lady, he thought.

Cindy had barely talked to him in the hour since she showed up. All she did was agree with whatever Teri and Elaine said, and take texts from someone.

Teri and Elaine were much more open. They told him about all his classmates he'd meet. Just avoid the Solomons.

"They think they own this school because they have the same last name as the town." Teri said.

"If you see Kyle or Kelly walk up on you with those dumb lackeys of theirs? Head the other way." Elaine warned. "You want a peaceful year."

With that ominous warning, John was rather unsure of what his year would be like.
