Jiggety-jig

The return home was quicker than the trip to the forest as this time you weren't stopping every five feet to examine a plant. Stepping down the ramp with Copper and Lysandra you were greeted to the sight of everyone lined up waiting for you in front of the control room. Seeing some hands on some hips and crossed arms you knew the greeting was going to be less than pleasant. Still, you bravely marched forward accepting your fate. Without being told Copper and Lysandra headed straight for their stables.

"You know we aren't happy that you didn't leave immediately after discovering that humans were living in that forest" Annabel begins.

"But we've had a discussion in your absence" Yvette continues.

"We have decided that there are times that conflict is going to find you regardless of how careful you are, and that we need to accept..." Rene begins but pauses.

"That we need to accept that you, or us, possibly getting hurt or worse is a part of what we signed on for" Jane finishes wrapping and arm around Rene who seems a little distraught.

"We know you aren't trying to make us worry on purpose, and we have to accept that sometimes you're going to run into a hunting party, or a patrol, or risk your life to save others" Annabel states.

"We just want you around as long as possible. Preferably until old age, but we need to come to terms that this world doesn't play favorites like that" Yvette says. You can tell this is something they are just starting to come to terms with from the mannerisms and faces they are making.

"I have to admit I was expecting a new rule where I wasn't allowed outside anymore. I'm more than impressed with the wisdom and unity of our group" you say in an almost shocked manner.

"Well we had help from someone with a little experience in the matter" Yvette states with a smirk. Confused you raise and eyebrow at the statement.

"That would be me" Nadine says stepping out of the control room smiling at you.

"Nadine" you exclaim "I'm so glad that you made it here finally. Did it take a lot out of you to teleport here" you ask walking up and hugging her.

"If you'd got much farther south I'd probably still be unconscious on a bed somewhere, but fortunately I'm just a bit exhausted" she replies hugging you back.

"Dinner's ready" Dawn states behind you making you jump a little. Nadine chuckles into the hug as you let out a sigh. You don't even have to look at Dawn to know she's proud of giving you a jump.

"Thank you Dawn. Alright everyone, let's go get some food. I think my priorities have changed a bit and I wanted to discuss what you all thought about it" you said letting Nadine out of the hug finally.
