Jealousy

The party had been tasked with delving into a dungeon, and it had been very dangerous. They had reached the end and completed the task. Although it was not without sacrifice.

Marli had died.

Nobody took it well. At least the girls knew she could be brought back. Ardak didn't. He didn't know how to process what had happened. He didn't know how to show that he was upset.

A day passed. Ardak was asked to attend an event. Marli's funeral he supposed. He was wrong. Mordecai was present. He performed a complicated ritual. Maybe this was what she wanted done with her body.

Marli jerked awake, coughing and sluttering, and for the second time in two days, Ardak had no idea how to react. So he smiled as he fought off the invader that came back with her.

That same evening she had gone out, without telling anyone why. Ardak, Pyxis and Nilla drank their woes away with various non-alcoholic beverages.

Ardak was the only one to see her slip back into the tavern, she wasnt particularly sneaky about it, but Pyxis and Nilla were preoccupied. She had some human male in tow, and without a word, dragged him upstairs.

An hour later, the human came down and sat with us, a huge cocky grin on his face. A wave of heated anger flushed over Ardak as Marli strutted downstairs and sat on the humans lap.

Ardak didn't know why he was so angry all of a sudden, but it must have been clear to the smug human. His shit eating grin faded as Ardak's subconcious mind caused his claws to begin to dig a hole into the solid oak table.

It didn't take long before Marli's toy excused himself from the table and fled. Ardak didnt know why he felt like that, or what the feeling was, he just knew that he hated it.
