Jasmine gets a phone call

After a morning shower, Spencer got dressed and headed downstairs. There he scanned the living space, finding only Jasmine in her domain, ingredients waiting behind her. Despite that, she had her phone in her hand and a gloomy look on her face.

"Everything alright?" Spencer asked.

"Oh hey Spence." She seemed to perk up when she saw Spencer. "Just got a call from my parents back home."

"Oh. They okay?"

"Well, Dad had bit of a fall and he spent the night in hospital. I mean he's fine but..."

"It's a worry." Spencer stated.

"Yeah... I think Mom wants to move up here so we're a bit closer."

"That'd be good."

Jasmine nodded. "It would be."

"Think the baby will encourage them?"

Spencer's statement caused Jasmine to laugh. "You still got energy after last night?"

His cheeks became bright red. "That's not what I meant."

"Really?" Jasmine's snarky tone spoke of how much she believed Spencer.

"Really."

After a shrug, Jasmine said "Whatever. Anyway, I figure you need a late breakfast after last night?"

"That'd be great, thanks."

"Good, 'cause I'm up for an early lunch."

The two laughed for a second before Spencer asked if he could help. Jasmine soon put him to work, making him cut up vegetables for the bread rolls she was cutting open. Spencer then said "Think your cooking could lure your parents to Avonwick?"

"Probably." Jasmine put a slice of ham on each bun. "You remember how hopeless my Mom was in the kitchen?"

"Well at least she didn't burn the house down."

Jasmine giggled. "No, I'll give her that, but not much else."

The proceeded to assemble their individual sandwiches, before sitting down to eat. After their meal, the two washed their plates before Jasmine looked to Spencer with a sinful little smirk. Pressing her finger on his chest, she said "So, about this baby?"
