Chapter 139 by CaptainPulse

What's the plan?

Jars have a notorious weakness

"Get on my shoulders," Hilda said, squatting down and cupping her hands together.

"What?" Tina asked, taking a step back.

Hilda pointed up to the lid above their heads. "You have to unscrew the lid of this jar for us to get out of here. I'll help you reach it, now get on my shoulders."

Tina blushed, shuffling her bare feet in place. "But mom... I'm not wearing pants."

Hilda grabbed her daughter's shoulders to steady her. She said definitively, looking her in the eyes, "Tina, I raised you. I've seen you naked before and considering our family's penchant for it, I'm likely to see you naked again. But we have to save your father, and we can't do that while we're stuck here. So suck it up and get on my back." The older woman turned around, mooning her daughter and lowering her shoulders.

Sighing, Tina lifted her bare haunches and climbed up onto her mother's bare back. Her crotch was situated right on the back of Hilda's head, the shaven lips ticklish against her mother's hair. Hilda stood up, more than a little shaky having misjudged her own strength, but managed to steady herself and lift Tina up towards the top of the jar. Tina reached up, but couldn't quite reach the lid, her fingers waving fruitlessly in the air above them.

"Stand on my shoulders. Don't worry, I'll keep you balanced." Hilda said, trying to keep herself from falling over.

Tina gulped, shakily raising her leg to place her bare foot on Hilda's shoulder. The young knight carefully raised herself up, her mother holding onto her ankles as she reached up to grab the underside of the lid. "Okay, I reached it. Now what?"

"Press your hands to the lid and turn it. You should be able to feel it give once it comes off."

"O-okay," Tina replied, her voice nervous.

Hilda sighed, patting her daughter's ankle. "It's going to be okay. You're doing great, sweetheart."

Tina nodded as she pushed against the lid and started twisting it counterclockwise. It took a hearty push to get it to turn, but Tina was stronger than most would admit. With a few hearty pushes, Tina unscrewed the lid and lift it off of the jar. "I did it. I did it!" She looked down at Hilda, a big smile on her face. "Did you see that? I opened it!"

Hilda grinned up at Tina. "I knew you could." She looked nervously at the door to the cabin and then back at Tina. "Now climb up to the edge and pull me out."

Tina nodded, pulling herself onto the edge of the jar and balancing on the thin edge of the glass. She reached down to try and grab Hilda's hand, but the two couldn't reach one another. Hilda jumped to try and make it, but only managed to brush Tina's fingertips. As Hilda made one final leap, she bumped into the side of the jar, jostling it and sending Tina tumbling to the table they were resting on.

"Ow..." Tina reached back to rub her bruised derriere before pressing her hands to the glass. "Mom, I'm sorry, I-"

"It's not your fault, we just have to think of a new plan."

Tina looked around desperately for anything that would give her a clue of what to do when she spotted it. Rushing over to a stack of books next to the jar, she climbed up to the top, pressed her back to the spines of the books, and wrapped her feet around the edge of the jar. Pushing with all her might, Tina pushed the jar forward, tilting it away from herself. Hilda, picking up on what Tina was doing, started pushing on the jar in the same direction as Tina. As they both let out one final heave, the jar started to tip forward and fall over onto its side.

As the jar crashed to the table, both women fell to the ground, Tina on her bottom and Hilda on her side. Crawling out of the jar, Hilda clutched her head as she looked around the room. Seeing Tina lying on the table, she rushed over and held her tightly, checking for any injuries. "Sweetie, are you okay?"

"Yes, mom, I'm fine," Tina whispered, gesturing to the cabin door. The doorknob started to rattle, and Hilda and Tina went pale. Both tiny women ran to hide behind the stack of books, hoping against all odds that no one would notice them.

"Where should I put this, cap'n?" The orc called behind her as she opened the door.

"Just leave it inside the door," Came a voice from on the deck, a voice that clearly belonged to Rey. "Just get back out here, we've got to prepare for the storm."

The orc tossed a burlap sack into the captain's quarters and shut the door behind her, not even bothering to look inside the room. Hilda and Tina breathed a collective sigh of relief, only just realizing that they had been holding their breaths. "That was a close one," Tina said.

"One we don't want to repeat," Hilda replied. "Come on, let's get out of here."

"How? We're still six inches tall, and we're still on the open water. It's not like we can take a lifeboat or swim out of here."

Hilda smiled as she stood up, hands on her hips, staring out at the burlap sack. "It seems our captors have given us just what we need to get out of here." Hilda ran towards the corner of the table, grabbing a sewing needle and roll of twine on the way, and slid down the table leg to the floor. Tina followed, still unsure of what her mother was planning.

As the two diminutive knights approached the sack, Hilda burrowed her way inside. From outside, Tina could hear her muttering, "Let's see... not you, not here... not you... Aha! Found you!" As she inched her way out of the bag, she looked back at Tina and said, definitively, "I've found our escape vessel."

What did Hilda find?
