January Teacher Work Day: Leah and Jonathan enjoy a phone call (Suspicion: -5, Luck: -10)

As Leah sat at her desk, she pulled out her phone and saw that she had a text from Jonathan. They had been messaging back and forth that afternoon but it was mostly small talk.

She replied to his message and she told him to give her a call if he had a chance. She bided her time and continued to scroll through her social media feed until she heard her phone ring. It was Jonathan. She picked up immediately, eager to hear his voice again.

"Hey," she said, trying not to sound too eager, she knew she loved this man (or at least she wanted to connect with him…).

"Hey yourself," he replied with a chuckle. "Sorry I couldn't reply earlier, I was finishing up some work stuff."

"It's okay," Leah said. "So how's your day been?"

They talked for what felt like hours, sharing stories about their coworkers and sharing good gossip from the Christmas break.

"I should probably let you get back to your work," Jonathan finally said after what felt like an eternity of talking.

"Yeah," Leah agreed reluctantly. "I better wrap it up here. See you tonight. I love you."

"Love you too," Jonathan said as they clicked off their phones at the same time.

Leah's heart skipped a beat at the thought of marrying that man. She also tried to not think about what she had had to do the past few months. Even still—talking to Jonathan brought her and him closer together. Being intentional is what would help them move past any obstacle.
