How does Leah spend her Monday?
Jan. Week 3: A Long Weekend-Monday...Leah grabs lunch with Jonathan (Suspicion: -5)
Leah decided to grab lunch with Jonathan. She rarely got to do a meal with him during the school year so it would be a wonderful change of pace and it would give her a chance to brighten up his day.
She texted Jonathan asking if he wanted to grab lunch, and his immediate reply was, “Name the place!”
She spent an hour getting ready, picking out a cute little outfit (even though it would be covered up for the cold most of the time) that made her feel too hot for a Monday, and reapplying makeup with the precision of someone on a first date. The anticipation of seeing Jonathan during the regular day at lunch was fun and exciting, not in a new love way but more in a school teachers never got to enjoy a lunch out on a weekday kind of way.
Leah arrived at the restaurant a few minutes early and Jonathan met her at nearly the same time. It was a tucked-away little bistro at one of those strip-mall places with an identity crisis—half Italian trattoria, half Asian fusion, all exposed brick and dim lighting. The place always smelled like garlic and miso and steamed jasmine rice. As they entered the restaurant, there was only one person standing at the hostess podium in front of them in the crowded entrance…
