Jan. Week 3: A Long Weekend-Leah Focuses on Relaxing (Luck: +15)

Leah made a conscious decision: this weekend was going to be about aggressively nurturing herself, as aggressively as possible without it looking like some sort of desperate Band-Aid over the bullet hole of teacher stress. If something made her feel good, she was doing it, and she was doing it with a vengeance.

She showered, ran the water as hot as she could stand, and let herself linger in the steam until her skin went pink. She thought about shaving her legs and then decided, with a small thrill of rebellion, not to. She towel-dried her hair, threw on leggings and a baggy college sweatshirt, and headed for the living room, where she flopped dramatically onto the couch. When Jonathan emerged with his usual bed head cowlick and dazed look. Leah was fully engrossed in a book with a TV show streaming in the background that she couldn't care less about.

"Busy plans today?" Jonathan asked jokingly as he fumbled for some coffee.

"You are looking at them." Leah sighed with a grin as she pulled a throw blanket over her.

They had a lazy lunch together at a fast casual place and then she went therapy shopping by herself. She didn't buy much, not on a teacher's salary, but she was glad of some of the cute discounted items she had found. The evening was just as relaxed with Jonathan happy to be fully engaged in his online virtual world on his computer while Leah relaxed on the couch alternating between streaming a show, reading her latest fluff book, and scrolling social media mindlessly.
