“Nathan, I am afraid I just can't,” she said, her voice syrupy sweet “but I have something very important this period. It's a parent meeting. I have to be there.” She

“Dang. Oh, uh, yeah. I guess that's fair.” He knew Leah couldn't just throw away all obligations at the drop of a hat. But he was disappointed.

“Sorry Nathan.” Leah replied, already sidestepping toward her classroom door, shepherding him with her body language. “I need to go uh meet the parents at the front right now, actually.”

“Think it will take all your planning period?” He blinked with the stubbornness of a dog who’s convinced you’re about to throw the ball one more time.

"Yeahhhhhh with this situation probably." she gave him a consoling touch on the arm.

"I hear ya Miss Williams." he turned sullen and headed toward the restrooms. He was likely going to rub one out to the video he had found of her.

Leah breathed a sigh of relief. Surely he wouldn't say anything...she hoped.
