Jamie is calling

As I am lying in bed for a brief twenty minute nap I am woken 5 minutes before my timer is set to go off. The ringtone again alerts me to it being Jamie and I seriously contemplate not answering. Being the good brother-in-law I end up deciding against that and answer.

"Hello Jamie. What's up?"

"Ummm, hey Mark. I really can't wait until Wednesday next week to have hot water. Can you please fix it, tonight?"

"No plumber till next week?" I ask politely.

"Actually that's when Matt can fix it, no plumbers available until the week after next. Please can you fix it for me?"

Silently I am pleased with myself that Jamie has actually taken to being polite with me over this. I quickly decide that I am going to hold her to the condition that was simply a joke before, a massage. "Sorry Jamie, I am still sore and you woke me up from my nap, so if I am going to do anything this evening I need to take care of these sore muscles. Otherwise I don't think I will have the strength to put that valve in."

"I can set it up so you get the best massage of your life. If you head to my spa downtown one girl there took the same courses as me but she didn't do the major in business and continued with the body and health studies."

"I really don't want to drive downtown. I can get the valve just up the road at the hardware store and I don't have a reason to go into town until practice tomorrow morning." Nonchalantly I reply to her urging request. "I think I will just finish my nap here, hit the sauna when I wake up then finally go for a nice long run on the bike. I will bring the valve home with me tomorrow from practice Jamie. I will talk to you later."

After a few moments of a pause Jamie finally capitulates to my request, "Fine, but I am warning you now, I have not done a massage since shortly after I opened my second spa four years ago."
