Jake recovers his ability to speak

Jake took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest. The air in Abbie's office felt thick and charged with tension. "Okay. Wow. So here's the thing."

"Yes, Jake? What's the thing?" Abbie asked, her tone almost playful. She leaned back in her chair, the picture of relaxed confidence, while Jake stood rigidly, hyper-aware of every sound from the hallway.

"It's not that I didn't remember. Absolutely not. It's that ... it's that I couldn't quite believe it was true." His voice trembled slightly, betraying his nervousness.

Abbie's eyes softened, a hint of sympathy in her gaze. "Oh, Jake. It was true!" She nodded emphatically. "I assure you, it was true."

Jake looked at her, still not convinced, his brow furrowed with uncertainty. The constant flow of coworkers past Abbie's open door made him acutely uncomfortable, as if their conversation was on display.

"Do I need to spell it out for you?" She leaned over her desk, clasping her hands under her chin, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Last night, I, Abbie Andrews, gave you, Jake Lewis, a b-l-o-w-j-o-b." She laughed softly at herself. "See? I spelled it out for you."

Jake smiled and laughed a little in spite of himself, some of the tension leaving his shoulders. The playful glint in Abbie's eyes was infectious, momentarily easing his anxiety.

"Okay, thank you. I get it." Jake turned, starting to go, eager to escape the charged atmosphere of her office.

"Wait, is that it?" Abbie asked, her voice halting him mid-step. "I figured you came here today to ask me something else."

Jake froze, his hand on the doorknob. "Like what?" He turned back, pulse quickening once more.

"Something about work? Something about me?" Abbie's voice lowered suggestively. "Maybe you wanted another b-l-o-w-j-o-b?"

Jake was silent, his mouth suddenly dry. The bustling office beyond the door seemed impossibly loud now. "Um, even if I did want another b-l-whatever, the office is full of people." He gestured weakly towards the hallway.

Abbie looked into the hallway and nodded, agreeing. Various co-workers walked back and forth, sometimes glancing in at her, sometimes too focused on their tasks to notice. The constant threat of discovery added an electric undercurrent to their conversation.

"So ... if I asked you that ... I don't see how ..." Jake trailed off, his face flushed with a mix of desire and embarrassment.

Abbie shrugged and looked at him expectantly, a slight smile playing on her lips. The ball was in Jake's court now.

Jake's mind raced. He glanced nervously at the open door, then back at Abbie's calm, almost challenging expression. The contrast between her composed demeanor and his internal turmoil was maddening. He decided that if all of this had really happened, he may as well see how far it could go.

"Okay, here goes," Jake said, his voice barely above a whisper. He leaned in closer, hyper-aware of every sound from the hallway. "Abbie, it's the middle of the work day, and we're here in your office. The door is open." He paused, took a very deep breath, and continued, "Will you give me a blowjob?"

The words hung in the air between them. Jake's heart pounded so loudly he was sure Abbie could hear it. He braced himself for rejection, or worse, outrage.

Abbie smiled at him, her eyes twinkling with amusement. She stood up slowly, deliberately, and folded her arms across her chest. Tilting her head to the side, she simply stared at him, creating an agonizing moment of suspense. Jake felt a bead of sweat form on his brow as the silence stretched on, his earlier confidence evaporating under her steady gaze.

Just as Jake was about to stammer out an apology and flee, Abbie stepped out from behind her desk. Her movements were slow, deliberate, almost predatory. Jake's breath caught in his throat as she approached him.

"Sure, I'd be happy to!"
