Jack finds something else

"Freya?" Jack called, pushing himself off the rock and into the water. Wading through the knee deep water, his first thought was that Freya had gone deeper into the cave, and he began walking down that way to check.

"Freya, where'd you go?" he said, his mind still spinning from his first kiss.

_Technically, that was my second... _he thought, before shaking his head furiously. That didn't count. She would never count.

Right now, he had to focus on finding Freya instead. He'd guess she was terribly embarrassed after how Amber had... behaved, seemed the right word, but how had she gotten away without his noticing? Well, maybe he'd just forgotten about her entirely, what with Amber right there in front of his face and... God, he was an asshole if that was the case.

"Freya, where-" Jack stopped when he heard a hushed giggling coming from his right. He turned and blinked as his eyes adjusted to the darkness - then realized there was a faint glow coming from down there, along with several excited whispers.

And he was pretty sure he heard his name, along with Amber's and Freya's, mentioned several times in them. He began walking down there, making loud splashes which caused the whispering and glow to stop. "Who's down there?" he called again, still walking towards whoever had been whispering.

As he came closer, he noticed the vague outline of a rock - and behind the rock, a glow so faint he wouldn't have been able to see it unless he got this close. "Okay, who's behind that rock? Come on out!"

More excited whispers came from behind said rock. "I told you this would happen, Lucy, but did you listen? Nooo-"

"It's not my fault, Rei, I can't help it!"

"Both of you shut up, he's going to find us!"

"I can hear you," Jack deadpanned, causing the whispers to go silent. "No point in hiding, I know you're there. Come on out."

Nothing happened a first, then, slowly, three girls came out from behind the rock. The first thing Jack noticed was that one of them was glowing and vaguely resembled a worm. The second was that they were really were girls - they couldn't be older than fifteen at the least.

He blinked, adjusting to the darkness as the worm girl glowed brighter. Then he shielded his eyes, groaning. "Okay, that's getting too bright, stop it!" The worm girl began to whine.

"I'm sorry, mister, I can't help it! I always glow this brightly when I get embarrassed!" She was starting to panic now, and honestly, Jack couldn't bare it.

"Hey, just calm down, okay, I'm not going to hurt you!" He said, trying to do his best to make it clear he meant it.

"But we were spying on you, mister, while you were kissing Amber!"

Jack paused, and slowly withdrew his arm from in front of his eyes. "You were?"

One of the girls next to the glow worm, who looked basically human save for her pointed ears and white bob cut hair, suddenly turned sharply to her friend. "Lucy, don't you dare say a word-"

"I'm really sorry mister," Lucy said, now completely panicking, waving her arms in front of herself, "it was Rei and Aoife's idea!"

"Hey, you insisted that you had to come along! The only reason we let you is because you light up the tunnel for Rei!" The elf hissed angrily, while the third girl, who had fox ears and four small tails, just sighed, shaking her head from side to side.

Lucy began audibly crying. "W-what? I thought we were friend and friends do everything together-"

"Aoife, that was going a bit too far," the fox girl said quietly, before Aoife snapped at her.

"Hey, you were the one who said we would get caught because of Lucy, not me-"

"Hey, girls, look, stop fighting, can you just-" now that Jack got a really good look at them however, he noticed something that made him go pale. "Just... WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING ANY CLOTHES?!" He immediately looked away, covering his eyes and nearly vomiting. How do I scrub my brain clean of that image?! I need to drag my brain out it's skull and scrub it until I die!

The girls began shrieking after a moment, suddenly realizing what he said was true. "Creepy pervert! Looking at us naked!"

"Hey, you're the ones not wearing clothes, and I never said you should do that?! Seriously, why aren't you at least somewhat decent?"

"Hmm?" said a new, older, more mature voice from right in front of him. He peaked through his eyes and felt himself go even paler.

There, standing before him, was an older girl wearing a one-piece bathing suit, two fox ears pushing through her head while nine fox tails fanned out behind her. "Well, well," she said, "what do we have here?"
