Its small and empty

We reach my room. There wasnt much there yet. A small bed, not much furniture. As soon as we walked in, Jamie began barking her demands.

"Listen, my room is right next to yours, so... Don't be too noisy, ok? And I don't want you going near my room either, got it?"

"um.... ok" I said awkwardly. I know she was at that difficult age, perhaps if I tried to be on her good side, she'd warm up to me!

"Not... not 'Uh.. ok' " She said, using a stupid voice to mock me. "Just because my dad isn't around, doesn't mean you can act like the big man of the house, got it?"

I stood there quietly, as I look up at her. She seemed serious and looked quite imposing. I thought for a bit, but then realized she must be hurting. I mean, her whole family had been turned upside down. I sort of felt bad for her.

"Are you listening to me big brother?" She said, almost laughing at the big part. God she was arrogant. "This is MY house" she said, loudly, assertively.

"Well, it's my home too" I quietly said.

"Well, pipsqueek, you better get out of my way and keep quiet if you will be living here!" She snapped.

God, this was getting out of control. I know these changes must be hard on her, but I couldn't let her call me names and talk like this.
