It went well till the plants showed up

So it was several days later that Bruce was walking around the art competition being held in one of the fancier districts of upper Gotham. He looked around, thinking on all the other things he could be doing, and then he saw his mother happily talking to friends of hers and how happy she was. He knew this was the place to be when he saw her happy like that.

Though it didn't make things any less strange for him, as he and his parents being here together made things interesting, to say the least. For one thing, he had people asking how his parents were back despite that being public information. As to be honest, Gotham was in shock of all the people brought back. It was giving the GDP now end of headache.

As now they could arrest basically any hardened criminal in the city. As it was hard to hide the crime when your victim gets up and informs the police about the time you shot them in the head. The backlog, though, from so many cold cases alone getting red hot, was running them ragged. He looked around at the displays and saw the people that made it awkward for him to be here specifically.

He had spent years as Gotham's richest playboy, which had been a front to cover up that he was Batman. It had been fun at times, and he had slept with more than a couple of the female artists at the competition. Which wouldn't be a bad thing, as he usually tried to make sure everything ended well with his pretend relationships as a playboy.

The problem is now the woman of Gotham has leverage on him. While they couldn't get him to settle, they could get his parents to **** him to settle down. There were several women eyeing him like water in the desert and giving quick glances to his parents to confirm they wanted to just that very much. So he made his way over knowing the rest of the night was going to be him running interference.

Martha looked around enjoying the sight of the pictures hanging around on the walls. Earlier in the day she had given the canvases to the amateur artist to draw quickly on for the showing going on right now in the early part of the night with the sun setting only a little bit ago. A big happy smile was on her face, her eyes lighting up with joy.

Those around her smiled themselves at the sight of her, thinking she was just enjoying life once more and getting a second chance to spend time with her son. She did enjoy spending time with her son and husband, but that wasn't why she was happy. She had done the task her master had given her, which was the most important thing of tonight, not the family time.

Not only had she done her task, a reason to be joyful, but she had also found another route to serve her master. She had talked with friends now decades older from the last time she had seen them. She could practically smell the jealousy and fear on them. They would be perfect to be brought to serve her master, as with her master's magic and herself as proof, they would be molded into a society of the rich and powerful seeking eternity under her and her master's control. He would no doubt love to have a secret society within Gotham under her command and, through her, his. They would no doubt have very wonderful secret parties.

Martha blushed at the image of so many of Gotham's elite women acting like the filthiest gutter whores to get her master's reward for such service at such parties. Her mind was pulled from the filthy gutter as the sound of cracking occurred, and she smiled a quick sadistic smile at the chaos that was going to be unleashed. "Glory to the Condiment wizard." Martha said, whispering as quietly as possible with a ferocious tone.
