It was as ordinary a morning as there ever had been

For living in a ruined world, Jane's life was surprisingly ordinary. Social interaction was still incomprehensible, women were still incredibly far out of her league, and mornings were still the worst thing in the world. In fact, the only thing that had changed day-to-day was the clothing or the lack thereof.

"Why do mornings exist?"

Instead of getting up and being productive like a normal human, Jane decided to lie in bed for the next... However long it was until she properly woke up. After all, one of the perks of living through the end of the world was that there were no more bosses, deadlines, or jobs...

Of course the downside, as Jane was quickly going to relearn for the hundredth time, was that there was no more heating.

"Shit! NO! **Cold**!"

"Everything okay there hun?"

Desperately bundling up under the covers, Jane stared down at her feet, trying to ignore the blush running up her face. You would've thought that she'd be used to her roommate's friendly pet names by now. But clearly, no amount of exposure to girls calling her pet names would make her blush any less.

"Yep, yep, everything's fine. It's just very cold."

"I feel you there, love. Do you want me to heat you up something for breakfast? Some toast and sausages should warm you right up."

"Ohhh, that sounds lovely."

Clutching the blankets as closely as she could, Jane cowered from the cold. Waiting desperately for the warmth of the fire to reach her bed.

There's no better feeling than being under the covers on a cold morning, knowing a warm breakfast is coming, especially if the person bringing it to you is a very pretty lady who happens to be naked.

The sound of the sausages frying was heaven to a cold, starving Jane. Before much longer, her stomach was making sounds she didn't even know were possible. Thankfully she didn't have to wait that long, and soon enough she was blessed by the heavenly sight of sausage and toast... And her very naked roommate.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you've got a small creature in your stomach!"

"No, that is exactly what's going on! My stomach is an insatiable beast."

"Well, hopefully, this will appease it!"

And it certainly did! For such a simple meal, it was probably the best breakfast Jane had ever had. In fact it was so good that she finally felt ready to get up and start doing stuff.

The cold of the morning bit at her toes as soon as they poked out of the covers. She almost considered going back to bed, but a small voice in the back of her mind told her not to. Now she would usually ignore that voice, instead opting to be a lazy little creature, but today was different for whatever reason.

Today she was going to be productive!

Which lasted for all of about two seconds before she was immediately distracted by a kitty walking past her window... And then a pretty lady walking by... And then her roommate poking her head through the door to ask her something.

"Hey so if it's not too much trouble do you mind popping down and getting us some toast and cheese. We're almost out."

"Already?? Wow we need to stop eating so much!"

"More like you need to stop eating so much, dear. I know I spoil you sometimes but still!"

"I... How dare you!"

"Oh I dare..."

She gives Jane a jokingly loving smile and disappears into the next room.

"Oh by the way I gave Lily the money last night so you should just be able to pick it up."
