What's next?
It starts out normal, but will soon escalate
Mary nodded and pointed to a scale and height measurer on the wall, “Please remove your shoes and any unnecessary items, then step on the scale.” Having such a friendly tone made patients smile and more compliant. Liz unlaced her shoes and handed them to Mary. She then took off her jacket and proceeded it to Mary once more. Mary turned and told Mike to put them in the closet across the hall. Again, Liz thought nothing of it, thinking it standard procedure(which is partly true), and made her way to the scale. Michael looked up from his game to see what was happening.
“Ok, now stand still for a minute so we can accurately record your weight.” Mary explained to Liz the obvious. Lizzie rolled her eyes with a smile having already heard this multiple times before. After standing for 30-40 seconds, Liz heard 3 beeps and stepped off. She glanced at the clipboard that her doctor began scribbling in. She read 135.5. ‘Not too bad,’ she thought to herself.
