It remains a mystery

Looking at the list that's only half current students, it occurs to you that the other half might be students who graduated the previous year. As you recall, Veronica Samuels was a second year student, and it seems logical that the other names you couldn't identify were the same.

If so you have one list that is exactly divided between first and second year students from last year, and a second composed entirely of current second year students. What that means, however, and why such apparently mundane lists would have been hidden remains a mystery to you.
