Chapter 9 by alphakennyone alphakennyone

What room is this and what is going on?

It is the owner's room and a little party is going on.

We enter through the door and I immediately see an assortment of important-looking people, pimps and their hos, businessmen, staff girls, and three dangerous-looking Asian men. The party intensifies as Joey is recognized and introduced to everybody in the room. I stay quiet but alert and act like I part of Joey's outfit. Still he hugs my body toward him and can't get away. He approaches the main den and one of the Asian man stands and bows to Joey. He then motions him to sit at an empty couch. Joey and I sit with him still pulling me towards his. I now feel a sense of safety with him but I try not to show it. He then says thing in my ear about all the people in the circle of couches.

The Asian man bowing to Joey now stands up straight and gathers all the attention of the people in the room. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you again for coming and enjoying the free drinks," he says in a deep Asian accent. Everybody in the room shouts and thank him. "Unfortunately the party has to end and I am very sorry that you have to leave. Mr. Holdfast and Mr. Tahoma you can stay."

The menagerie of staff and VIPs leave out the only exit. As the people line up and exit the loudness of the party dies down. When everybody has left, the Asian man sits and addresses the people present. "I am holding this meeting because of the major pits that the other casinos are pushing us into. Thank you for gathering with me to discuss ways to generate more revenue in the casino."

The meeting drives in a professional setting but everybody acts as peers to peers. The main Asian man wears an actual suit a Asian male would probably wear. It is made of red and black silk. His black pants compliment the shirt. He is rather short but he makes up for it by being the leader to the two others.

The man to his right, as Joey tells me, is of Japanese heritage and he has the typical black spikey hair. He is sitting in a pose that makes him look like he's sleeping with his glasses over his eyes but he's perfectly awake. He also has his idle arm around the shoulders of an Asian woman Joey doesn't tell me about. I assume she is a staff girl, wearing glasses and wearing a jacket and tie with matching skirt.

The man to his left, Joey says, is a major influence in the San Francisco cityscape in California. His specialty is the illegal importing and exporting of sports cars from around the world and also in the illegal modification of street racing cars. He leads and prepares monthly underground street racing scenes and races throughout the busy highways and streets of the city. He is dress like he's going to a funeral and also wears black sunglasses. Joey says that he wears sunglasses, not because he doesn't want glare in his, but because he is blind, but he doesn't want anyone to know that he is.

The man to the left of the Japanese man, Joey says is Mr. Holdfast, which isn't even his real name. He is named that because he always has a quick grip on everything, and nothing gets past him. By his outfit, he is a pimp with one of his major hos sitting next to him. He wears a bright purple and green hat with a matching suit and white tie which matches his leather shoes. He also has a stained wooden cane with a gold-plated ornament of a naked woman cupping her breasts. His ho, looks more like a schoolgirl than a ho. The clues that give it away is the heavy eyeliner and blush, plus the fishnet stockings and 5-inch stiletto heels.

The man to the right of the blind Asian man is Mr. Tahoma, a Texas local with a deep western accent. He sits upright and doesn't drink. He wears a cowboy hat and real, cowboy boots.

The meeting begins and all but the females, including me, are deep in discussion. I try to listen to every single word they say. What they are discussing is a major hit on all the major casinos in one night, including the businesses of Caligula's Casino and Hotel. Joey seems to be the most quiet, even though the Asian men are not in authority. Joey seems to talk when he is asked for an opinion or when he is asked to speak.

"I take it that your father doesn't know about this, Mr. Forelli," the blind Asian man speaks.

"He usually never know what going on in my business, but I give you fair warning, he is becoming suspicious. He even sent her to look out for me," he says about me and I feel a sudden jerk of his arm pulling me a little bit closer to his body, which is getting pretty annoying, but I try not to protest. "But my father tricks are no match for my intuition. I give you my word."

The meeting ends and we leave the room and the casino. As we walk out the door he pulls me aside to a wall and pushes me, not hard, but only to pin me to it. He covertly draws his face as close to mine to make it look like we are making out. Instead, he tells me, "I don't know what my father asked you to do, but you are know following what I say. Not him, okay?" he asks for immediate trust and intrudes for an answer. Okay? Okay?!"

"Okay," I finally say.

He pulls me off the wall and hugs me with one arm and pulls me close to his body again. We turn on a small street and he uses a remote to open a garage. We go in and turns on a light. In the center of the cool room sits a shiny, red Enzo Ferrari. He tells me to get in and I follow. He gets in and drives the sports car out.

Where do we go from there?
