It does!

Bowser went down to the dungeon where Peach was being held. Kammy was watching her and by Bowser's orders put her to sleep with her magic.

Bowser smiled seeing her peaceful. "Good work, Kammy. If this works then it might be best if she does not know what we are doing. Is the Double cherry ready?"

Kammy nodded and held out the altered Double cherry. She entered the cell and quietly approached Peach not trying to wake her. When she placed the cherry on Peach it instantly created a copy of her sleeping. Kammy knew it was a success because the clone moved differently from the original.

Bowser was happy with the results. "Well done, Kammy."

"Thank you, my load." She said back with pride. "But now the question is which do you think we should keep? The original or the clone?"

"Does it matter?"

"I don't think so. The clone would be completely identical and have the same memories. It's really up to you."
